Sales Applications Engineer – Dublin 15

Are you an engineer who enjoys designing solutions, solving technical challenges and working directly with customers?

We are looking for a Sales Applications Engineer to join our Sales Division on a full-time, permanent basis at our Head Office in Dublin 15.

This is an opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical or automation engineering background who wants to move closer to technical sales and customer-facing engineering, while still remaining hands-on with machine concepts and technical solutions.

You will work with customers from the early stages of a project, understanding their requirements and helping turn those requirements into practical custom automation solutions. From developing machine concepts in SolidWorks and selecting suitable equipment to preparing technical proposals and supporting project handover, you will play an important role in shaping solutions before they reach the manufacturing floor.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Work directly with customers to understand their technical and application requirements.
• Develop automated machine concepts and technical solutions based on customer needs.
• Create and develop mechanical concepts using SolidWorks.
• Identify suitable mechanical, electrical and automation components for proposed solutions.
• Prepare technical proposals, quotations, cost estimates and supporting documentation.
• Provide technical guidance to customers throughout the quotation and concept development stages.
• Work with suppliers to obtain specifications, pricing and lead times for equipment and components.
• Collaborate with our Engineering, Automation, Procurement, Manufacturing and Quality teams to develop practical and commercially viable solutions.
• Support the handover of successful projects from quotation into engineering, manufacturing and commissioning.
• Manage technical enquiries, quotation requests and spare parts requirements.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Contribute ideas towards continuous improvement and the development of engineering standards and solutions.

What We’re Looking For

You may be a good fit if you have:

• A Degree, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.
• Good working knowledge of SolidWorks and mechanical design.
• A strong understanding of machine design, manufacturing processes and automation equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to turn customer requirements into practical engineering concepts.
• Confidence communicating with customers, suppliers and engineering teams.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote and Teams.
• Previous experience in applications engineering, mechanical design, automation, manufacturing or product development would be an advantage.

Pay: €37,000.00-€55,000.00 per year
