Sales Application Engineer

Our member company is seeking a meticulous and motivated Sales Application Engineer t o join the team In this role, you will play a critical part in providing technical sales and engineering support by recommending suitable product solutions, troubleshooting customer needs, delivering technical training and managing projects from proposal through completion.

Job Responsibilities

• Sales support: Build strong customer relationships as a trusted advisor, providing pre-sales and post-sales support. Work with sales teams to interpret customer requirements, deliver solutions, manage customer expectations and make recommendations during the sales process.
• Engineering solutions & troubleshooting: Offer workable solutions to customers' problems; participate in technical discussions with clients' engineering/maintenance teams; suggest improvements for cost savings or other client benefits; work with the Technical Service Unit to implement solutions; maintain company service standards.
• Presentations & training: Develop and deliver product demonstrations and sales presentations tailored to customers and events; conduct technical and/or product training for internal and external customers; contribute to marketing resources when necessary.
• Project team contribution: Keep current on industry trends, market activities and competitors to identify product improvements or new products; communicate and negotiate with principals/suppliers for cost-effective solutions; act as intermediary between customers and suppliers on technical requirements and specifications; source and broaden the product range from reliable local/overseas suppliers.
• Managing projects: Develop technical solutions in engineering projects from inception to completion; engage customers and suppliers in technical discussions to deliver on time and within budget; offer alternative solutions when unforeseen problems arise; ensure project information is documented and stored in the company database.
• Principal relationships: Work with principals to obtain quotations and technical support; coordinate joint customer visit schedules with the Sales team; communicate clearly and concisely with principals.

Job Requirement

• Good knowledge of steam traps and thermal applications
• Diploma/Degree in Engineering
• Able to communicate effectively (written & verbal) and contribute to overall team sales
• Strong positive attitude towards customer service excellence
• Able to conduct technical and/or product training for internal and external customers
• Own vehicle is an advantage
