Sales Application Engineer (Technical Support | Steam & Boiler Systems)

• Well Established Company
• Basic $4,500 – $6,000 + Allowances + VB
• Working location: Upper Thomson
• Working Days: Monday - Friday
• Working Hours: 8.30am - 5.30pm
• Must have relevant steam or boiler related experience

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support Sales with Technical Solutions

• Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products and solutions.
• Work closely with the Sales team to provide technical advice during the sales process.
• Visit customers to understand their applications, systems, and technical challenges.
• Prepare technical proposals, product selections, and recommendations.
• Provide technical support before and after the sale.
• Help the Sales team manage customer expectations and achieve business objectives.

2. Solve Customer Engineering Problems

• Investigate customer technical and process problems.
• Identify the causes of problems and recommend practical solutions.
• Discuss technical issues with customers' engineering, maintenance, and operations teams.
• Suggest improvements that can increase efficiency, reliability, or reduce operating costs.
• Work with the Technical Service Team to implement solutions at customer sites.
• Follow up with customers to ensure the solutions meet their requirements.

3. Conduct Product Presentations & Training

• Prepare and deliver product presentations and technical demonstrations.
• Explain product features, applications, and benefits clearly to customers.
• Conduct product and technical training for customers and internal teams.
• Support exhibitions, seminars, and other technical events when required.
• Assist in preparing technical brochures, presentations, case studies, and other marketing materials.

4. Work with Principals & Suppliers

• Communicate with local and overseas principals and suppliers on technical matters.
• Obtain product information, technical advice, quotations, and alternative solutions.
• Clarify customer requirements and specifications with suppliers.
• Coordinate joint customer visits with principals and the Sales team.
• Build strong working relationships with principals and suppliers.
• Identify suitable new products and suppliers to expand the company's product range.
• Keep up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and competitor products.

5. Support Engineering Projects

• Develop technical solutions from the beginning of a project through completion.
• Work with customers, Sales, Project teams, suppliers, and principals to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Participate in technical meetings, site visits, commissioning, and troubleshooting when required.
• Identify potential technical issues early and provide alternative solutions when problems arise.
• Maintain proper records of project information, technical documents, and customer requirements.
• Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in application engineering, technical sales, industrial equipment, or engineering solutions.

• Candidates with experience in steam systems, boilers, thermal equipment, or related industrial applications are strongly preferred.
