About the role

Captain Nemo's Pool Spa Marine is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our team in Helensvale, Queensland. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to work in the dynamic retail and consumer products sector. As a Sales Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales across our pool, spa, and marine product range. This position is based on-site at our Helensvale location, where you will be at the heart of our retail operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service and product knowledge to customers browsing pool and spa products
• Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems
• Maintain product displays and ensure the retail environment is clean, organised and visually appealing
• Stock shelves and replenish merchandise to maintain adequate inventory levels
• Assist customers with product selection and provide expert recommendations based on their needs
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally and courteously
• Support promotional activities and merchandising initiatives
• Contribute to the achievement of sales targets and store performance goals
• Maintain knowledge of current products, pricing and store policies

What we're looking for

• Previous retail or customer service experience is advantageous
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
• A friendly, approachable demeanour and genuine passion for customer service
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Cash handling experience or willingness to learn
• Physical stamina for standing for extended periods and handling products
• Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude
• Product knowledge in pool, spa, or marine products is desirable but not essential
