Sales Assistant

About the role

Total Tools Hervey Bay is seeking a Sales Assistant to join our team in a full-time capacity. Based in Hervey Bay, QLD, this role offers an excellent opportunity to become part of a dynamic retail environment where you'll help customers find the tools and products they need. As a Sales Assistant, you will be the face of our store, delivering outstanding customer service and contributing to a positive shopping experience that keeps customers returning to Total Tools.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting customers warmly and providing assistance in locating products throughout the store
• Processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently at the point of sale
• Answering customer enquiries about product features, specifications and availability
• Maintaining store displays and ensuring merchandise is well-organised and clearly priced
• Restocking shelves and keeping the sales floor clean and presentable
• Supporting the team with stock management and inventory control
• Building positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat business
• Following company policies and procedures to maintain a safe and compliant work environment
• Contributing to achieving store sales targets through excellent customer engagement

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Sales Assistant, retail associate or similar customer-facing role
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers and explain product benefits clearly
• Excellent customer service orientation with a genuine desire to help people find solutions
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Basic numeracy skills and experience with point-of-sale systems or till operations
• Physical ability to lift, carry and move stock items throughout your shift
• Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work the hours required for the part-time position
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn about products and industry best practices
• Preferred: Knowledge of tools, hardware or construction products would be advantageous
