Sales Assistant

About the role

The Sales Assistant is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to international travelers while achieving sales targets in a Duty Free retail environment. The role involves product knowledge, active selling, compliance with airport and customs regulations and maintaining Group presentation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in a professional and friendly manner.
• Actively promote and upsell Duty Free products (liquor, tobacco, perfumes, cosmetics, confectionery, chocolate etc.).
• Achieve individual, branch sales targets and KPIs.
• Provide product recommendations based on customer needs and travel destinations.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints and returns professionally.
• Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems.
• Follow cash handling and reconciliation procedures.
• Verify boarding passes and travel documents as required for Duty Free sales compliance.
• Replenish gondola, wall bays and ensure products are well displayed according to merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain branch cleanliness and presentation standards.

About you

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of retail or customer service experience (Duty Free, FMCG, beauty, liquor, or luxury retail preferred).
• Strong communication skills; multilingual ability is an advantage.
• Sales-driven with strong interpersonal skills.
• Basic numeracy and POS handling skills.
• Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Must be eligible for security clearance.
