SALES ASSISTANT

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our team at Matahari Tire Indonesia, PT in Kendal, Jawa Tengah. This is a full-time position where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales across our retail operations. As a Sales Assistant, you will be the face of our brand, helping customers find the right products and ensuring a positive shopping experience that builds loyalty and encourages repeat business. Your contributions will directly impact our store's performance and customer satisfaction levels.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly upon arrival and assess their needs to provide personalised product recommendations
• Demonstrate product knowledge and features, highlighting the benefits of our tyre and automotive products
• Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handle cash and card payments
• Conduct regular stock checks, monitor inventory levels and report on product availability
• Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries, ensuring products are stored correctly
• Address customer queries and complaints professionally, working towards satisfactory resolutions
• Meet and exceed individual and team sales targets through effective selling techniques
• Support promotional activities and campaigns to increase customer awareness of products
• Maintain awareness of current promotions, pricing and product information

What we're looking for

• Retail or customer service experience, preferably in automotive or tyre retail

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers at all levels

• Excellent numeracy and proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills

• Proven ability to work towards and achieve sales targets

• Physical capability to handle stock and work in a retail environment for extended periods

• Team player mentality with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and support team goals

• Patience, honesty and integrity in all customer interactions

• Flexibility to work occasional shifts including weekends, as required by the business

• Knowledge of tyre products and automotive industry is beneficial but not essential
