Sales Assistant (Part-time)

TEMPORARY CONTRACT | PART-TIME

Indigo Home & Gift is a family-owned home interiors store specializing in high-quality sofas, furniture, giftware, and anything related to the home. We are seeking a part-time Sales Assistant to join our team in the busy run up to Christmas; who can provide exceptional customer service and shopfloor expertise to our valued clients.

The successful candidate will work for a minimum of 21 hours, with 2 days of the week and 1 on the weekend. Previous sales experience is crucial, and past sales experience in the home sector is ideal but not necessary. As a Sales Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting customers, answering questions, and ensuring that they receive the best possible service. You'll also be required to understand how to use our till, and have a good control of cash management. You will also be assisting in maintaining the store's appearance and helping with the inventory management.

This is a temporary contract, as Christmas is our busiest period and we always need more hands on deck! However, if the perfect candidate is found, this could become a permanent position.

The position will be located at both of our shops (Bromborough and Gordale). As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a friendly, supportive environment with a focus on providing an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service to all clients
• Assist customers with their purchase decisions and answer any questions they may have
• Maintain store appearance and ensure the store is kept tidy and organized
• Work the till to make sure queues don't build up
• Help with inventory management
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure the smooth operation of the store

Key Qualifications:

• Previous sales experience is crucial
• Previous sales experience in the home sector is ideal but not necessary
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Flexibility to work weekends and some weekdays
