Part-Time Sales Associate

DeWolfe Lumber & Hardware is seeking a dependable, customer-focused team member to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping customers, staying active throughout the day, and learning about hardware, lumber, tools, and towing equipment.

As a locally owned hardware and lumber store serving the Antelope Valley since 1951, we take pride in providing knowledgeable service and practical solutions for our customers. We’re looking for someone who shares that commitment and wants to grow with us.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service throughout the store
• Assist customers with hardware, lumber, paint, plumbing, electrical, and building material purchases
• Process U-Haul rentals and returns
• Safely assist customers with trailer hookups and towing equipment
• Answer phones and assist with customer inquiries
• Operate cash register and point-of-sale systems
• Stock shelves and maintain merchandise displays
• Load customer purchases, including lumber, concrete, fencing, and other building materials
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Support general store operations as needed

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid driver’s license required
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 60 pounds
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Friendly, professional, and customer-oriented attitude
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
• Ability to learn new products, procedures, and software systems
• Availability to work evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
• Previous customer service or retail experience
• Experience in hardware, construction, lumber, agriculture, ranching, or related industries is a plus
• Experience with trailers, towing, or equipment operation is a plus

• $18.00–$20.00 per hour, depending on experience
