POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales Associate is a frontline member of the Hopkins Market team and plays an important role in creating the welcoming, knowledgeable, and high-quality guest experience that defines Hopkins Market.
Sales Associates are responsible for assisting customers, operating the point-of-sale system, stocking and maintaining merchandise, creating attractive product displays, maintaining a clean and inviting Market, and helping customers learn about the products, farmers, producers, and history behind Hopkins Farm.
This is not simply a cashier position. Sales Associates are expected to take ownership of the Market floor, notice what needs to be done, and contribute wherever needed. Every Sales Associate represents Hopkins Market, Hopkins Farm, and the Hopkins family when interacting with our customers and community.

- Maintain attractive, organized, and fully stocked displays.
- Ensure shelf and display pricing is accurate.
- Notify management when inventory is running low or when product quality does not meet Market standards.
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries as needed.

- Remove trash and address spills or other cleanliness issues when they are noticed.
- Keep bags, supplies, carts, baskets, and checkout areas stocked and organized.
- Assist with opening and closing duties.

Hopkins Market employees are expected to demonstrate:
Initiative. See what needs to be done and take action.
Work Ethic. Be willing to work hard and contribute wherever needed.
Reliability. Arrive on time and ready to work for every scheduled shift.

ATTENDANCE & CONDUCT
Reliable attendance is essential to Market operations. Employees are expected to report for scheduled shifts on time and ready to work.
Hopkins Market maintains high standards for professional conduct, workplace safety, respectful treatment of coworkers and guests, and substance-free performance while working.
Employees are expected to understand that their conduct while representing Hopkins Market reflects upon the entire organization.
WHAT MAKES THIS JOB DIFFERENT
Hopkins Market is more than a place where customers purchase groceries. Our goal is to create a place where people gather, shop, eat, learn, and reconnect with agriculture.
A successful Sales Associate does more than complete transactions. They learn a customer's name. They can explain where the tomatoes came from. They notice when a display needs attention. They help a child learn something about farming. They tell someone what is happening elsewhere on the farm. They make customers feel that they are guests rather than transactions.
That experience is an essential part of The Hopkins Way.
EMPLOYMENT
Employment with Hopkins Market is at will. Nothing contained in this job description creates a contract or guarantee of employment for any specific period.
Responsibilities may evolve as Hopkins Market grows. Employees may be asked to perform other reasonable duties necessary to support Market operations and the overall guest experience.
