What they need
KALM Studio is a recovery and movement studio in Old Town Alexandria.
HOW YOU ARE PAID
Base pay is $15.00 per hour.
On top of that you earn 15 percent commission on every membership you sell.
That is about $24 on our Recover membership, $34 on Restore, and $45 on
Unlimited Recovery.
Commission is paid in two parts: half when the member's first payment clears,
half when the second clears.
What that adds up to depends on you. An associate selling 10 memberships a
month earns roughly $18 an hour. Someone selling 20 earns roughly $21. If you
are good at this, there is no cap on it. Commission is not guaranteed and
depends on actual sales.
This is a sales role on a studio floor. Roughly 60 percent of your time is
selling memberships and following up with leads. The rest is running the front
of the studio and keeping it clean and ready.
We are telling you both halves up front because both are real. If you want a
desk job with a sales title, this is not it. If you want a sales job where you
never touch a towel, this is not it either.
This is hands-on work. You will be moving for most of your shift, resetting
suites, handling towels and laundry, and turning over studios between classes.
Wear shoes you can stand in.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Membership sales and lead follow-up (60%)
- Follow up with new leads by phone, text, and email, and respond fast to
membership inquiries
Conduct studio tours and membership consultations
Help people understand Recovery, Movement, and Ritual options, and recommend
the membership that fits their routine
Confidently ask for the membership sale
Follow up with intro-offer guests, studio visitors, and anyone who was sent a
membership link but has not purchased
Track every lead, conversation, and follow-up in Momence
Onboard new members so their first month actually sticks, and follow up with
members who purchase but have not booked
- Watch for members with low attendance or unused credits and reach out before
they cancel
- Work toward weekly and monthly membership goals
Member experience and front desk (20%)
Greet every member by name once you know it, and learn it quickly
Check members in, answer questions, and handle concerns before they become
complaints
- Guide first-timers through contrast therapy safely, including sauna and plunge
protocols
Manage class check-in, waitlists, and capacity, and keep the schedule on time
Support instructors so they can focus on teaching
Keep the front of house calm and unhurried, even when it is busy
Studio readiness and cleaning (20%)
- Clean and reset each suite after every session, including sauna, shower, and
cold plunge
- Turn over movement studios between classes, including mats, props, and
equipment
- Run daily deep cleaning of plunge tubs, wet areas, locker rooms, and common
spaces
- Log daily water testing and chemical readings for the cold plunge, accurately
and on time
Restock supplies and keep cleaning and stocking trackers current
Report maintenance and repair needs the same day you notice them
Notice what needs doing and do it without being asked
WHO YOU ARE
- Comfortable talking about money and memberships, and comfortable asking for
the sale
Warm and relationship-driven, without being performative
Steady. Busy does not make you frantic.
Organized, with strong follow-through on the follow-up nobody is watching
You notice a smudge on the glass and wipe it before anyone mentions it
You have worked with people before, in wellness, fitness, hospitality, or
service
You can learn a booking platform quickly
Reliable. Shifts start early and end late, and members plan their day around
us.
Experience in boutique fitness, wellness, hospitality, or membership sales is
preferred. Experience with sauna, cold plunge, Pilates, or yoga is a plus, not a
requirement. We will train you on the equipment and the protocols. We cannot
train you to care.
SCHEDULE
The studio is open seven days a week, early morning through late evening.
This position requires availability across early, midday, evening, and weekend
shifts. Weekend availability is required.
Hours are variable and scheduled according to business need. Scheduled hours
generally range from 10 to 25 hours per week. Availability you provide is not a
guarantee of hours scheduled.
We build schedules two weeks out and we honor them.
WHAT ELSE YOU GET
Free membership, including recovery and unlimited classes
Paid training
Flexible scheduling
Room to grow into a lead or Studio Manager role as we build the team
This position does not include employer-sponsored health, dental, vision, life,
disability, or retirement benefits, and does not include paid time off or paid
holidays.
