What they need

About Us

SCS Manufacturing is a central Vancouver Island manufacturer of waste containers, flat decks, gravel boxes and open-top containers. SCS also provides custom fabrication and design services to clients across Western North America.

As part of The Hazelwood Group, we offer the best of both worlds: small-team flexibility backed by the strength of a larger organization. Learn more at https://www.hazelwood.ca/

We’re looking for a Temporary Full-Time Sales Coordinator to provide coverage during a parental leave. This role will own the movement of container opportunities from initial inquiry through production handoff. You’ll be the link between customers, Outside Sales, Design, Estimating and Production, ensuring opportunities are accurately quoted, properly documented and ready to move forward.

This role combines customer communication, sales coordination, estimating support and occasional business-development activity. If you’re organized, technically curious and comfortable managing several active opportunities at once, we want to hear from you.

Benefits of Employment: Why work at SCS?

  • Benefits after three months, with health and dental premiums 100% employer-paid
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage
  • Priority access to TELUS Health Virtual Care
  • Annual financial donations to volunteer organizations directly supported by employees
  • Employee and Family Assistance Program
  • Supportive, respectful and forward-thinking leadership that values employee input and ideas
  • On-site parking

Compensation

  • $60,000 per year, plus commission.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary contact for container inquiries and sales opportunities
  • Engage prospective and existing customers by phone, email, video and in person
  • Assess customer needs and recommend container solutions
  • Prepare accurate quotes, confirming scope, pricing and specifications
  • Coordinate drawings, approvals and revisions with Design
  • Maintain pipeline activity, customer records and follow-up in the CRM
  • Partner with Outside Sales to develop and advance opportunities
  • Manage awarded projects through scope confirmation and production handoff
  • Communicate project requirements, priorities and timelines to internal teams
  • Monitor project progress and address risks, gaps or delays
  • Support RFP responses, proposals and customer-facing documentation
  • Maintain reporting and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Contribute to customer retention, account growth and revenue generation

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in sales, sales coordination, estimating or customer service, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Experience with quoting, CRM/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and customer requirements
  • Strong customer service, communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Confidence working with customers and cross-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving and objection-handling skills
  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing or a technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
