What they need
Sales Development Representative (SDR)
Reading (hybrid) | £30,000 base + £10,000 OTE
Start your tech sales career where the customer experience gets built
Every time you call your bank, contact your insurer or chat to your energy supplier, there’s technology working behind that conversation, and our client is the team that builds it. They help some of the UK’s biggest organisations run their customer service on cloud contact centre platforms, AI and automation, working with household names across finance, insurance, retail, utilities and travel.
Why this role stands out
AI is changing the way every organisation talks to its customers, and plenty of businesses need expert help to get it right. That means there are a lot of conversations to be had, and you’ll be the person starting them. From your first month you’ll be speaking to senior decision-makers at major brands, learning how enterprise technology is bought and sold, and building the skills that underpin a long and successful career in sales.
What you’ll do
You’ll identify the organisations that need our client most and research the people running their customer service and IT functions. From there, you’ll use the phone, email and LinkedIn to open doors, asking sharp questions that uncover real problems and booking meetings that turn into deals. You’ll work closely with the sales and marketing teams throughout, and you’ll see your pipeline grow week by week.
What you’ll bring
- The confidence to talk to anyone, at any level, and enjoy doing it
- Resilience, and the mindset that a “no” today is often a “not yet”
- Genuine curiosity about how businesses work and what keeps them up at night
- Clear, natural communication on the phone and in writing
- The drive to hit your targets and earn your commission
- Ambition to build a career rather than just find a job
A degree is welcome but not essential, and if you’ve worked in hospitality, retail or any customer-facing role, you’ll already have skills that count.
What you’ll get
- £30,000 base salary plus £10,000 on-target earnings (£40,000 OTE)
- Hybrid working from the Reading office
- Full training and ongoing coaching from experienced sellers
- A clear path into account management and closing roles
- A team that celebrates wins together and genuinely backs each other
