What they need

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Development Representative (Ballot Access) is responsible for generating significant new revenue for Victory Field Operations' ballot access and petition management practice by leveraging deep relationships across the Republican political ecosystem to identify candidates, campaigns, committees, and ballot initiatives early, and converting those relationships into qualified, profitable VFO engagements.

ABOUT VICTORY FIELD OPERATIONS

Victory Field Operations (VFO) is a national field operations firm that turns high-stakes strategy into measurable outcomes through accountable execution, field intelligence, and disciplined operations at scale. VFO serves campaigns, corporations, and organizations across a range of specialized service lines including ballot access and petition management, corporate and field intelligence, campaign and field programs, public affairs and advocacy, and data center intelligence. Built on integrity, driven by victory, and defined by excellence, VFO operates by a simple conviction: field wins races.

SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • A consistent, growing pipeline of qualified ballot access opportunities is built well ahead of filing deadlines, generating significant new revenue against individual targets each election cycle.
  • VFO is the trusted first call for ballot access across priority Republican campaigns, consultants, party organizations, and ballot initiative committees, with relationships converting into repeat, multi-race, and multi-state engagements.
  • Every opportunity in the CRM reflects accurate, current intelligence on filing deadlines, signature requirements, scope, and expected value, giving leadership reliable visibility into pipeline and forecast.

OBJECTIVES

  • Generate new revenue for VFO's ballot access and petition management services, with full accountability for individual revenue and pipeline goals.
  • Leverage and expand relationships with Republican candidates, campaign managers, general consultants, party organizations, PACs, and ballot initiative committees.
  • Conduct proactive outbound prospecting to priority races, campaigns, and initiative efforts rather than waiting for inbound leads.
  • Monitor election calendars, filing deadlines, candidate announcements, and ballot measure activity to identify opportunities early.
  • Build and maintain prioritized target lists by state, race, and cycle, mapping decision-makers and influencers for each opportunity.
  • Lead consultative discovery conversations to understand each campaign's ballot access requirements, timeline, signature thresholds, and risk.
  • Position VFO's full ballot access offering, including petition management, paid signature gathering, signature verification, and petition challenge and defense.
  • Develop account-specific proposals and pricing in coordination with Operations, Finance, and executive leadership.
  • Manage a disciplined pipeline in the CRM, with defined stage, value, next action, filing deadline, and expected close date for every opportunity.
  • Guide prospects from first conversation through commitment and contracting, maintaining urgency around filing deadlines.
  • Represent VFO at Republican political conferences, party conventions, consultant gatherings, and fundraising events with clear sales objectives and disciplined follow-up.
  • Ensure complete handoffs to Operations and Legal, including scope, jurisdiction requirements, timelines, and client commitments.
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities into canvassing, field programs, verification, and election operations services.

COMPETENCIES

  • Deeply connected and credible within the Republican political world, with relationships that open doors.
  • Proactive revenue generator who creates opportunities through disciplined outbound effort.
  • Strong working knowledge of ballot access, petitions, and state election requirements.
  • Consultative seller who uncovers each campaign's real needs and risks.
  • Thrives under hard deadlines, moving deals with urgency during compressed election cycles.
  • Exceptional follow-through that keeps every opportunity moving.
  • Disciplined CRM user who keeps pipeline and forecasts accurate.
  • Discreet and trustworthy with sensitive campaign and political information.
  • Collaborative partner to Operations, Finance, and Legal while owning the sales process.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience in campaigns or political consulting.
  • 3+ years of experience in Republican campaigns, political consulting, party operations, political fundraising, or political business development, with a demonstrated track record of generating new business or managing campaign vendor relationships.
  • Working knowledge of ballot access, petition circulation, signature verification, and state filing requirements, with proficiency in CRM-based pipeline management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an established network across Republican candidates, consultants, and party leadership.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Full-time, Michigan-based role, working from the office or remotely as determined by the company, with extended periods of computer and phone work managing pipeline, proposals, and client communications.
  • Frequent travel throughout the United States to campaign events, party conventions, conferences, and client meetings, including short-notice travel during peak election cycles.
  • Availability during evenings, weekends, and critical filing deadline periods as election calendars require.

COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY

As an equal opportunity employer committed to meeting the needs of a multigenerational and multicultural workforce, Victory Field Operations recognizes that a diverse staff, reflective of our community, is an integral and welcome part of a successful and ethical business. We hire local talent at all levels regardless of race, color, religion, age, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or disability, and actively foster inclusion in all forms both within our company and across interactions with clients, candidates, and partners.
