Sales Engineer – Calibration

Job Summary

We are looking for a Sales Engineer – Calibration to develop and manage business opportunities for calibration, testing, inspection, and instrumentation services in the marine industry. The candidate will be responsible for identifying potential customers, understanding their technical requirements, preparing quotations, coordinating with the technical team, and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities for marine calibration and instrumentation services.
• Promote calibration, testing, inspection, maintenance, and related technical services to ship owners, ship management companies, shipyards, marine contractors, and vessel operators.
• Visit customers, vessels, shipyards, ports, and marine offices to understand service requirements.
• Understand customer requirements for calibration of pressure, temperature, level, flow, electrical, and other marine instruments.
• Coordinate with the technical/service team to assess job requirements and prepare suitable technical proposals.
• Prepare and submit technical and commercial quotations based on customer requirements.
• Follow up on quotations, enquiries, purchase orders, and pending business opportunities.
• Coordinate with the Service/Technical team to ensure smooth execution of confirmed calibration jobs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing marine customers and identify opportunities for repeat business.
• Conduct customer visits and presentations to explain the company's calibration and marine technical services.
• Coordinate with vessel owners, ship managers, procurement teams, technical superintendents, shipyards, and vessel crew.
• Maintain proper records of customer enquiries, quotations, follow-ups, and sales activities.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and potential business opportunities in the marine sector.
• Support the preparation of service contracts, annual calibration agreements, and other recurring service opportunities.
• Coordinate with customers regarding vessel schedules and service attendance requirements.
• Negotiate commercial terms within company guidelines and assist in closing orders.
• Follow up on payments and outstanding commercial matters when required.
• Prepare regular sales reports and provide updates to management.
• Travel to ports, shipyards, vessels, and customer locations as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 1–5years of experience in technical sales, marine services, instrumentation, calibration, or a related field preferred.
• Candidates with marine industry experience will be an advantage.
• Freshers with good technical knowledge and strong communication skills may also be considered.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
