SALES ENGINEER

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Sales Engineer to join our Metal Division. The candidate will be responsible for generating new business, developing client relationships, understanding technical requirements, preparing quotations, and achieving sales targets for metal fabrication and related products/services.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of metal works, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a proven track record in sales within the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the UAE market.
• Generate leads through cold calling, networking, client visits, referrals, and market research.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
• Visit construction sites, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders to understand project requirements.
• Understand client technical requirements and recommend suitable metal fabrication solutions.
• Prepare and submit quotations, proposals, and commercial offers in coordination with the estimation and technical teams.
• Review drawings, BOQs, specifications, and project requirements where required.
• Coordinate with the estimation, design, production, procurement, and project teams to ensure accurate and timely quotations.
• Follow up on submitted quotations and negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with clients.
• Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
• Maintain an updated sales pipeline and provide regular sales reports to management.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing, and potential business opportunities.
• Develop new accounts and expand business with existing customers.
• Attend client meetings, technical discussions, site meetings, exhibitions, and industry networking events.
• Coordinate with clients from enquiry stage through order confirmation and project handover.
• Ensure proper follow-up on purchase orders, contracts, payments, and outstanding commercial matters.
• Maintain accurate records of leads, quotations, client communications, and sales activities.
• Support management in developing sales strategies and achieving the Metal Division's business objectives.

Technical / Product Knowledge

The candidate should preferably have knowledge of:

• Stainless steel fabrication
• Mild steel fabrication
• Architectural metal works
• Metal doors and frames
• Handrails and balustrades
• Metal cladding and decorative metal works
• Structural and miscellaneous steel works
• TIG/MIG welding and fabrication processes
• Metal finishing and surface treatment
• Shop drawings and technical specifications
• BOQ, quantity take-off, and project costing

Requirements

• Bachelor's/Diploma degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Metal Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of UAE experience in sales engineering, preferably in metal fabrication, construction, fit-out, or related industries.
• Strong understanding of the UAE construction and contracting market.
• Existing client/contractor/consultant relationships will be an advantage.
