Sales Engineer (Electrical)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated and commercially driven Sales Engineer (Electrical) to support our expanding business operations. The ideal candidate will combine electrical engineering knowledge with strong sales capabilities to identify business opportunities, manage customer enquiries, deliver competitive technical and commercial proposals, and support the company's growth in the Oil & Gas and Energy sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and expand sales opportunities for electrical equipment, systems and industrial solutions.
• Handle customer enquiries, RFQs, tenders and technical clarifications.
• Prepare accurate costing, quotations, technical proposals and commercial submissions.
• Source products from local and international manufacturers and suppliers.
• Evaluate technical specifications, datasheets and compliance with customer requirements.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, manufacturers and business partners.
• Conduct customer visits, product presentations and technical discussions.
• Follow up on quotations, negotiate pricing and secure purchase orders.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments on delivery schedules, documentation and order fulfilment.
• Monitor market developments, identify potential projects and achieve assigned sales targets.

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Preferably 1–3 years of experience in technical sales, industrial procurement or electrical equipment supply.
• Fresh graduates with strong technical knowledge and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of LV/MV switchgear, switchboards, motors, transformers, electrical cables, instrumentation and control equipment is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Oil & Gas procurement processes, tender documentation and electrical industry standards is an added advantage.
• Strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills and customer-oriented mindset.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple enquiries and meet submission deadlines.
• Possess a valid driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
