Sales Engineer Germany

Fortaegis is a fast-scaling, highly ambitious and cutting-edge semiconductor company. We are looking for an experienced Senior Sales Engineer (m/f/d) to drive the technical adoption of our advanced Network Encrypter hardware and our overarching Management Software Layer. Our high-performance security solutions are deployed in highly demanding, mission-critical environments across various verticals, including Cloud AI, Defense, Automotive, Critical Infrastructure, and the Industrial sector.

In this customer-facing role, you will serve as technical expert for the German market, bridging the gap between our technology and our enterprise clients. You will be responsible for the entire technical pre-sales lifecycle, ensuring our architecture—combining hardware encryption with flexible management platforms (On-Premise, Cloud, or SaaS)—is successfully designed into complex customer IT infrastructures.

Job requirements

• Education: Successfully completed degree in Computer Science, IT Security, Engineering, or a comparable technical qualification.
• Professional Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or in a similar technical pre-sales role.
• Enterprise & Market Background: Excellent professional background working for enterprise technology vendors, specialized cybersecurity companies, or major IT system integrators. A proven track record in the German B2B enterprise market with an existing network of technical decision-makers is strongly preferred.
• Networking Expertise: Deep and demonstrable understanding of enterprise networking architectures (LAN/WAN topologies, routing, switching, the OSI model, BGP, OSPF).
• Security & Management Knowledge: Strong technical proficiency in network security, hardware-based encryption, VPNs, IPsec, MACsec, PKI, as well as the orchestration of centralized network and security management systems.
• Communication Skills: Strong presentation and whiteboarding skills, with the ability to explain complex cryptographic architectures to highly technical staff.
• Language Skills: Native-level German and fluent business English (written and spoken).
• Mobility: Flexibility to travel regularly across Germany for customer meetings, technical workshops, and deployment support.

Job responsibilities

• Technical Consulting & Design-In: Act as the leading technical authority to architect and seamlessly integrate our Network Encrypter and centralized management software into existing enterprise network environments.
• Product Demonstrations & PoCs: Plan, lead, and execute hands-on technical product demonstrations and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) on-site at customer locations to validate performance, reliability, and ease of management.
• Pre-Sales Support: Work closely with the sales and product management team to analyze customer requirements, mitigate technical objections, and guide technical decision-makers (Network Architects, CISOs, IT Directors) through the evaluation process.
• Market Intelligence: Collect technical feedback from the German market and collaborate with product management to drive future product enhancements.
