Sales Estimator

The opportunity!

Gulf Coast Pavers is looking for a Sales Estimator who enjoys the momentum of the pursuit: finding the right opportunities, building accurate and competitive estimates, and staying close to customers through the award. Based in our Dallas office, you will help shape growth across the DFW region while working with general contractors, architects, consultants, vendors, and our field teams.

This role offers meaningful visibility and ownership. You will manage bids from initial request through proposal and follow-up, bringing sharp analysis, careful documentation, commercial judgment, and strong customer service to every opportunity.

What you will do

• Own the paver and retaining wall bid pipeline, organize incoming opportunities and keeping the bid schedule current.
• Review drawings, specifications, proposals, and related documents to prepare accurate estimates for time, materials, labor, and freight.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and assemble complete estimates and proposals for presentation to general contractors and owners.
• Build strong customer relationships, clarify project scope and schedule requirements, follow up on proposals, negotiate effectively, and help close sales.
• Partner with vendors to source materials and negotiate pricing, and maintain reliable unit pricing for labor and materials.
• Prepare and track RFIs, document bid clarifications, and organize bid information for future reference.
• Participate in internal estimate reviews and strategy sessions focused on profitability, efficiency, and bid quality.
• Maintain accurate job data and activity reporting, manage the database, and support field operations with change order pricing.
• Stay current on estimating tools, technology, and techniques.

What you bring

• At least two years of work experience is preferred; construction estimating or related construction experience is an advantage.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent educational experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications, supported by strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Confident communication, customer service, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
• Strong computer skills, including spreadsheets; familiarity with financial and project management principles.
• A self-motivated, dependable, and ethical approach to work, with the ability to contribute as a well-organized team player.
• A valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle. Bilingual capability is helpful but not required.

Work environment

This is an office-based role in Grapevine with occasional visits to active construction sites. The position involves regular collaboration with customers, suppliers, and teams across the company.
