What they need
Event Sales Executive
Job description
Hello Partner is a dynamic, independent B2B media company that runs events and award ceremonies across the UK and Europe. Our mission is to deliver world-class experiences that bring together the creator economy and marketing communities. Our events are supported by Hello Partner, a subscription-based online news publication and community for the sectors we serve.
The role
CreatorFest is Europe’s #1 creator economy event, and it’s growing fast. After significant growth across the last two years, we’re more ambitious than ever and expanding the sales team to keep up. We're looking for an ambitious Event Sales Executive to focus entirely on new business. You'll find, pitch and close new exhibitors and sponsors for our creator conferences, mainly CreatorFest, our annual festival for creators in London (www.creatorfest.com), but also will be part of the team selling on The Global Influencer Marketing Awards (www.influencermarketingawards.com) later in the year too.
This is a revenue role with its own targets and pipeline, not a support or admin role. You'll work alongside our two Event Sales Managers and learn from them, but the deals you win will be your own.
The candidate
You'll have some experience in sales, ideally B2B, and you'll be ready to take the next step into a role where you own your own pipeline. Experience in event or media sales is important to understand the dynamics of the industry, but not absolutely essential. What matters most is your attitude, drive and determination, along with a continuous appetite for winning new business.
You'll be comfortable prospecting and cold outreach: picking up the phone, sending targeted emails and using LinkedIn to open doors with brands, agencies and platforms. You'll build rapport quickly, ask relevant questions to understand what a client needs, and learn to handle objections and move deals through to close.
You'll be supported and coached by our Portfolio Director and will learn from experienced Sales Managers. We would like to invest in the development of the right candidate, and we expect you to bring the energy and curiosity to make the most of it. That includes getting stuck into the industry: attending relevant events, following the news and building your own network in the creator economy. You'll be organised, resilient and motivated by targets.
What you'll be doing
- Generating and converting new business sponsorship and exhibition revenue for CreatorFest and our wider creator portfolio
- Researching and prospecting new target accounts, and building a strong pipeline through outbound activity
- Qualifying and converting inbound leads
- Running discovery calls and pitches, and putting together proposals
- Negotiating and closing deals against your own revenue targets
- Keeping HubSpot up to date and accurate
- Representing CreatorFest at industry events to build relationships and spot opportunities
Key requirements
- Experience in a sales or target-driven role (around 2–3 years), ideally in B2B, events or media
- A proven track record of hitting targets or KPIs, whether in sales, business development or a similar commercial role
- An interest in the creator economy, influencer marketing or digital media. Deep knowledge isn't essential, but you'll need to pick up the fundamentals quickly
- Confidence on the phone, and the ability to build relationships with marketing decision-makers
- Resilience and tenacity: rejection doesn't knock you off course
- A consultative approach and a desire to keep improving your negotiation and closing skills
- Strong organisation and time management, with the ability to manage a busy pipeline
- Experience with a CRM is desirable (we use HubSpot)
- Integrity, a team-player mindset and the ability to work at pace in a fast-moving, sometimes pressured environment
If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!
