Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Sales Floor Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the frontline of our store, assisting customers with their needs, maintaining an organized and well-stocked sales floor, and providing knowledgeable recommendations on hardware and building products. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, helping people, and growing with a stable local business.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers on the sales floor, answering questions and helping them locate products
• Provide expert advice on hardware, tools, lumber, building materials, and other store products
• Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure the sales floor is clean, neat, and fully stocked
• Receive and unload deliveries, including lifting and moving heavy items (lumber, bags of concrete, etc.)
• Operate cash registers and assist with point-of-sale transactions as needed
• Maintain product knowledge through training and staying current on inventory and new items
• Help with special orders, product inquiries, and resolving customer concerns
• Support store opening/closing procedures and other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous retail, customer service, or hardware/lumber experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate
• Basic knowledge of hardware, tools, building materials, and home improvement products (or eagerness to learn quickly)
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, helpful, and patient demeanor
• Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50+ lbs) and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders for extended periods
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Open availability required, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed (flexible scheduling available)
