Sales Hire Controller

About the role

As a Sales Hire Controller, you will manage the complete hire process from customer enquiry through to equipment return while actively identifying sales opportunities and building strong customer relationships.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, is commercially minded and wants to develop their sales career within a supportive team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to customer enquiries via phone, email and in person
• Prepare quotations, process hire orders
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers
• Conduct customer follow-ups and proactively generate new business opportunities
• Assist customers in selecting the most appropriate equipment for their project requirements
• Coordinate equipment dispatch, deliveries and returns
• Manage equipment scheduling, availability and utilisation
• Maintain accurate customer records, hire documentation and CRM data
• Assist with stock control, inventory activities and warehouse operations as required
• Work closely with the sales and operations teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience

About you

• Experience in customer service, sales support, hire control or a similar role
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A proactive and positive approach to customer engagement
• The confidence to identify sales opportunities and ask for the business
• Strong administration and computer skills
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• A hands-on attitude and willingness to support warehouse activities when required
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
