What they need
Internship Purpose
Learn consultative sales, professional outreach and telephone communication in a real-estate marketplace through structured instruction, role-play, observation, guided call exercises, coaching and a capstone project. Voice communication is a central learning focus.
Please apply only if you are a US Citizen or hold a valid U.S. visa.
What You Will Learn
- How to explain the marketplace value proposition to Realtors, Brokers and service professionals.
- Fundamentals of outbound telephone sales: introductions, discovery questions, listening, objection handling, qualification, follow-up and appointment-setting.
- How to distinguish provider acquisition (supply side) from customer/Realtor acquisition (demand side).
- Sales-call scripts, CRM notes, lead stages, call quality reviews and funnel metrics.
- Event attendees outreach and registrations
- Professional conduct, consent, privacy, do-not-call practices and escalation of real-estate/legal questions.
Core Educational Assignments — Voice Calling Focus
- Attend call-training sessions and listen to approved, appropriately handled sample calls or live calls with supervisor authorization, or, follow the guides and instructions.
- Event attendees outreach and registrations.
- Write and refine sample telephone scripts for outreach to real estate professionals.
- Conduct structured mock calls and role-play discovery, objections, qualification and appointment-setting; receive documented feedback.
- Practice calling scenarios for Realtors and other marketplace users and professionals, including appropriate explanations of how service requests and provider matching work.
- Observe a supervisor handling actual sales calls; discuss the caller’s approach and prepare call-analysis reflections.
- Where counsel approves the internship structure and applicable calling rules permit, participate in occasional closely supervised educational call exercises, with a supervisor responsible for the relationship, follow-up and any operational outcome.
- Practice CRM disposition and call-note documentation using sandbox or anonymized records.
- Complete a capstone: design a provider-outreach call playbook, role-play a sample campaign and present lessons learned and recommended improvements.
Live Sales Activities Not Assigned as Core Intern Duties
- Intern shall work under the supervision of a supervisor
Preferred Qualifications
- Student or recent graduate in Sales, Marketing, Business, Communications, Real Estate, Entrepreneurship or a related field.
- Strong spoken English, clear telephone communication, listening and professional etiquette.
- Interest in real-estate services, startups, events, B2B sales and two-sided marketplaces.
- Comfort learning CRM systems, spreadsheets, scripts and call-quality scorecards.
- Willingness to practice, receive coaching, follow approved scripts and respect confidentiality.
Program Structure & Supervision
A named supervisor provides weekly training, call-role-play feedback, a written learning plan, midpoint review and final evaluation. Schedules accommodate academic commitments. Any real outreach is pre-approved and supervised, and the supervisor—not the intern—owns operational results. There is no promise of employment after completion.
Calling Compliance, Confidentiality & Systems
The intern must complete approved calling-compliance, privacy, data-security and professional-conduct training before exposure to prospect information or any live calls. KnockTheDoor will determine whether the proposed campaign is subject to federal or state telemarketing, consent, recording, suppression and calling-time rules. No personal dialing accounts, unapproved lead exports or unsupervised customer/provider outreach. Applicable internship, NDA, acceptable-use and work-product agreements may be required.
