What they need

**Vacancy Title:**Sales Manager

**Vacancy Location:**Athens / Piraeus, Greece – Field-based

Engagement Type: Permanent, Full-Time

The Role:

Survitec is looking for a Sales Manager to support the continued growth of our business within the Greek maritime market.

This is a commercially focused role combining new business development, technical sales and strategic account management. You will be responsible for developing existing customer relationships while actively identifying and converting new opportunities across the Greek shipping and maritime community.

You will spend a significant proportion of your time in the market: meeting customers, developing professional relationships, understanding technical and commercial requirements and identifying opportunities across Survitec's marine safety products and services.

A key measure of success will be your ability to generate new business and profitable revenue growth, alongside the continued development of existing accounts.

This is a field-based sales position with a significant focus on new business development rather than an inside sales or customer service role.

Duties and responsibilities for Sales Manager role but not limited to:

New Business Development

  • Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities across the Greek maritime market.
  • Build professional relationships with shipowners, ship managers, procurement teams, technical departments and other relevant maritime decision-makers.
  • Develop and execute a structured sales plan focused on new customer acquisition, revenue growth and increased market penetration.
  • Generate opportunities through customer visits, professional networking, referrals, market intelligence and proactive prospecting.
  • Identify opportunities across Survitec's marine safety products, technical services, inspection, maintenance and service agreements.
  • Manage opportunities throughout the sales cycle, from initial engagement and needs identification through proposal, negotiation and close.

Existing Customer Development

  • Manage and develop existing customer relationships, identifying opportunities to increase revenue, service penetration and customer value.
  • Develop relationships across relevant commercial, procurement, technical and operational functions within customer organisations.
  • Understand customers' operational requirements, fleets and future plans to identify appropriate products and services.
  • Conduct regular customer reviews and follow-ups to identify additional commercial opportunities and support long-term customer relationships.

Commercial & Technical Sales

  • Understand customer requirements and translate them into appropriate commercial and technical solutions, working with internal specialists where required.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Survitec's marine safety portfolio, including fire safety, lifeboats, liferafts and associated inspection and servicing solutions.
  • Maintain and actively manage a structured sales pipeline, with clear visibility of opportunity value, probability, conversion, revenue and margin.
  • Prepare and negotiate commercially appropriate proposals in line with agreed pricing and margin parameters.
  • Monitor market and competitor activity to identify emerging commercial opportunities.
  • Represent Survitec at customer meetings, networking opportunities and relevant maritime industry events.

Collaboration & Sales Management

  • Work closely with Customer Service, Service Operations and technical specialists to deliver effective end-to-end customer solutions.
  • Maintain accurate customer, activity and opportunity information within Salesforce and relevant business systems.
  • Provide clear and timely reporting on pipeline activity, opportunities, expected revenue and commercial risks.
  • Operate in accordance with Survitec policies, procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.

About You:

Essential criteria:

  • Demonstrable experience within sales, business development or a commercially focused role within the marine or maritime sector.
  • Practical knowledge of the Greek shipping and maritime market.
  • Evidence of successfully identifying, developing and converting new-business opportunities.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing customer relationships and generating sustainable revenue growth.
  • Strong commercial understanding, including experience of pricing, negotiation, pipeline management and working within margin expectations.
  • Ability to understand technical products and/or services and communicate their commercial value to customers.
  • Experience building professional relationships with relevant commercial, procurement, operational or technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to independently plan and manage customer activity within a field-based environment.
  • Effective communication, organisation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Greek language skills at a level required to effectively manage customer relationships within the local market, alongside professional working proficiency in English.
  • Full driving licence and ability to undertake regular customer visits as required by the role.
  • Relevant experience in marine safety, technical services or products supplied to shipowners or ship management companies, including fire protection, lifesaving equipment, engines, lubricants, spare parts or related marine solutions, would be advantageous.

Equivalent relevant experience gained within other technical marine sectors will also be considered.

What Success Looks Like

Performance in this role will be assessed against clear commercial and role-related objectives, including:

  • Development and conversion of new-business opportunities.
  • Growth of existing customer accounts.
  • Revenue and margin performance against agreed objectives.
  • Development and management of a sustainable sales pipeline.
  • Expansion of Survitec's customer relationships and market presence.
  • Effective collaboration with operational and technical teams to deliver customer solutions.
