About The Role
Senior Sales Manager
At Car Finance 247, we're looking for an experienced, commercially driven Senior Sales Manager to join our Manchester-based Sales team and play a key role in driving performance, developing our people and delivering outstanding results.
This is an exciting opportunity for an established sales leader with a proven track record of managing high-performing teams within the motor finance, automotive sales or financial services industry.
As Senior Sales Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and performance of your sales team, ensuring we consistently achieve our commercial objectives while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
You'll lead and develop a team of approximately 12–15 direct reports, creating a high-performance culture built around accountability, coaching, motivation and continuous improvement.
We're looking for someone who understands what it takes to deliver results in a fast-paced, target-driven environment. You'll be confident using data to identify opportunities, challenge performance and implement improvements that positively impact sales conversion, productivity and customer outcomes.
You'll also play an important role in shaping how we operate, working closely with the Head of Sales and other senior stakeholders to improve processes, develop our people and ensure we continue to deliver against our ambitious growth plans.
Sales Leadership and Performance
- Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing sales team, creating a culture of accountability, achievement and continuous improvement.
- Take ownership of departmental sales targets, KPIs and performance objectives, ensuring consistent delivery against business expectations.
- Monitor individual and team performance daily, identifying opportunities to improve productivity, sales conversion and overall results.
- Use performance data, reporting and commercial insights to make informed decisions and implement effective improvement plans.
- Drive a results-focused environment where colleagues are encouraged and supported to consistently achieve and exceed targets.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews and one-to-one sessions to communicate priorities, review progress and maintain momentum.
People Management and Development
- Provide effective leadership, coaching and development to approximately 12–15 direct reports.
- Identify individual strengths, development opportunities and performance gaps, implementing tailored coaching and support.
- Manage underperformance confidently and constructively, ensuring clear expectations, measurable objectives and appropriate follow-up.
- Recognise and reward high performance, creating an environment where colleagues feel motivated to succeed.
- Support the development of future leaders and high-performing sales professionals within the business.
- Ensure colleagues demonstrate the required knowledge, skills and competence to perform their roles effectively.
Sales Conversion and Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve the customer sales journey, from initial enquiry through to finance agreement and completion.
- Work closely with the Head of Sales to develop and implement strategies that increase conversion rates and maximise commercial performance.
- Review existing processes, call guides and ways of working, recommending improvements that enhance efficiency and customer outcomes.
- Champion best practices across the team, ensuring a consistent and effective approach to customer engagement and account management.
- Support improvements across people, processes and technology to drive greater productivity and business growth.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the motor finance marketplace, lender relationships and changing customer expectations.
Customer Experience and Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure the team consistently delivers a high standard of customer service in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a customer-focused sales culture that balances strong commercial performance with fair and positive customer outcomes.
- Ensure colleagues understand and adhere to FCA regulatory requirements, internal processes and compliance standards.
- Monitor customer interactions and sales activity to identify opportunities for coaching, improvement and risk reduction.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to maintain high standards of quality, compliance and customer satisfaction.
Collaboration and Business Improvement
- Work closely with the Head of Sales and wider leadership team to support departmental objectives and business growth.
- Provide regular updates on sales performance, forecasts, challenges and opportunities.
- Collaborate with other Senior Managers and key stakeholders to share best practices and drive improvements across the business.
- Support the implementation of business changes, including new processes, lender panel updates and sales initiatives.
- Take a proactive approach to identifying opportunities that improve operational efficiency, team engagement and overall commercial results.
