SALES MERCHANDISER

About the role

Dwangi Borneo is seeking a dynamic and motivated Sales Merchandiser to join our retail team in Kuching, Sarawak. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in driving sales through effective product presentation, merchandising strategies, and customer engagement. As a Sales Merchandiser, you will be responsible for maximising product visibility and appeal across our retail locations, directly contributing to the company's revenue growth and market presence. This role is essential to ensuring our customers have an engaging shopping experience and our products are positioned for optimal sales performance.

Key responsibilities

• Visit assigned stores/outlets regularly.

• Ensure products are properly displayed, priced, and well-stocked.

• Arrange product shelves according to company merchandising guidelines.

• Monitor stock levels and check for out-of-stock items.

• Check product and remove damaged/expired products.

• Monitor competitors’ prices, promotions, and product displays.

• Set up promotional materials, displays, and special offers.

• Build good relationships with store staff and outlet managers.

• Take photos and submit daily/weekly sales and merchandising reports.

• Monitor sales performance and work toward assigned sales targets.

• Communicate customer and market feedback to the sales team

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Merchandiser, Sales Representative, or similar role in retail or consumer products.
• Strong visual merchandising skills with the ability to create eye-catching, on-brand displays
• Excellent understanding of consumer behaviour and sales drivers in retail environments
• Proficiency with retail management systems, sales tracking software, and basic data analysis tools
• Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple locations or projects simultaneously
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, with a customer-centric mindset
• Knowledge of current retail trends and best practices in merchandising and visual presentation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Physical capability to regularly handle products and materials, and stand for extended periods
• Flexibility to travel between store locations as required
• Fluency in English and Malay; additional languages are advantageous
• A valid driving licence and reliable transportation are preferred
