Sales / Project Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Doors of Manitoba Team as an Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of construction projects and providing detailed proposals to clients. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills and experience with construction estimating.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and materials required

• Collaborate with project managers and field operations to gather necessary information for accurate cost estimation

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services

• Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and identify potential challenges or opportunities (if applicable)

• Research and source pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors

• Review and analyze bids from subcontractors to ensure competitiveness and accuracy

• Prepare and present detailed proposals to clients, including cost breakdowns and timelines

• Collaborate with project management team to ensure accurate budgeting and scheduling

Experience:

• Proven experience with tenders in the construction industry including design plans and take offs

• Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, practices, and techniques

• Proficiency in computers and Microsoft Excel (mandatory)

• Excellent mathematical skills with the ability to perform complex calculations

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients

• Familiarity with project management principles and practices

• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications
