Sales Representative

A door-to-door sales representative visits residential or business properties unannounced to market, promote, and sell products or services directly to customers.

Responsibilities

• Field Prospecting: Walk through assigned neighborhoods or commercial areas to identify potential buyers.
• Product Presentation: Demonstrate product features, explain benefits, and share promotional pamphlets or samples.
• Objection Handling: Address customer questions or concerns politely and turn hesitation into interest.
• Closing Sales: Negotiate pricing, write up customer orders, and process payments or deposits.
• Record Keeping: Log daily interactions, update lead databases, and report sales metrics to the team manager.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Communication: Speak clearly and build quick rapport with strangers.
• Resilience: Handle rejection positively and stay motivated after multiple closed doors.
• Time Management: Follow a daily walking or travel schedule efficiently.
• Experience: Often requires no prior experience, as companies provide on-the-job training.
