What they need

Our company has been operating for over 20 years and offers a wide range of engineering solutions for the power transmission industry, specialising in quality couplings, castings and crusher products supplied to the transmission, global mining and quarrying industries throughout Australia, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

We are now offering a Permanent Full-Time position with long-term job security. This position is currently recruiting 2 employees (one Mandarin-speaking and one English-speaking). This is a unique opportunity for someone who seeks to work as a Sales Representative, led by an experienced National Manager and responsible for winning new business for the company.

We offer a Base Salary + Superannuation + Reimbursement on actual spend + uncapped commissions — the earning potential is almost limitless.

You will be responsible for reporting to the National Manager of the Business Development department, with a dotted line to the Owner.

Key Responsibilities

· Actively seek out sales opportunities for new equipment (e.g. daily cold calling / prospecting for new business). For this reason, we would also consider applications from those with a telemarketing background who are passionate about moving into a client-facing sales position, provided they also have reasonable mechanical aptitude.

· Present quotations and proposals to new and existing clients.

· Work closely with the technical and service teams to ensure clients' expectations are met.

· Help organise and attend trade shows and related networking activities.

· Continually keep the Client Information Collection Form up to date to reflect the activities you have performed within your region.

· Travel both domestically and internationally to represent the interests of the company.

· Engage with industry consultancies and affiliates for market research and business development opportunities.

· Submit activity and result reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual regional analyses, to keep management informed.

· Ensure contract execution, address any issues, and ensure client satisfaction with goods and services.

About You

· Trustworthy and autonomous. To be successful in this role you will need to be a trustworthy individual with a high moral code. As you will be required to travel for new business development, you will need to be able to work autonomously.

· Industry experience. Experience in the desired industries (e.g. power transmission, mining, energy, metallurgy, chemical, water) is highly advantageous. If you do not have direct industry experience, relevant sales experience is also welcome — please ensure any relevant sales experience is clearly reflected in your resume.

· Sales experience. You must have sales experience (non-retail); a background in mechanical/industrial sales is preferred but not essential.

· Market research. You will need to conduct market research.

· Autonomy and travel. Candidates who are able to work autonomously and are willing to travel will be highly regarded.

· New business mindset. A willingness to identify and chase new business opportunities.

· Sales approach. A confident, courteous, professional and ethical sales approach.

· Language. Mandarin-speaking ability is an advantage but is not required.

Work Rights and Visa

Must have valid Australian work rights — Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid visa with legal working rights in Australia.

Please note: we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.

Equal Opportunity

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and women in trades. We promote a diverse working culture in which everyone is treated fairly and respectfully.

How to Apply

To submit your application, please submit a cover letter and current resume.
