Sales Support Engineer

About the Role

MRC Global is seeking a detailed-oriented and customer-focused Sales Support Engineer to join our team in Singapore. This hybrid role combines technical assessment and sales support, requiring close collaboration with customers, technicians, and workshop personnel to develop repair quotations and respond to customer enquiries. While primarily office-based, the role involves regular workshop engagement to gather technical information, assess repair requirements, and prepare accurate cost estimates. The ideal candidate is hands-on, commercially minded, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the sales team by preparing quotations and responding to customer enquiries in a timely manner
• Work closely with the workshop team to evaluate the scope of repair, replacement parts, labour requirements, and testing activities to develop accurate cost estimates and timeline.
• Liaise with engineers, technicians, suppliers, and customers to clarify technical, suppliers, and customers to clarify technical commercial requirements.
• Demonstrate resourcefulness in sourcing for product and non-standard parts.
• Independently build expertise in valve specifications and applications, with a strong foundation of ASME, API, and ISO valve standards

What You'll Bring

• Diploma in Engineering or relevant experience in the valve or flow control industry.
• Comfortable working in both an office and workshop environments.
• Ability to understand equipment condition, repair requirements, and costing considerations.
• Hands-on and proactive approach to gathering technical information from workshop activities.
• Good communication and coordination skills when working with customers and internal teams.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation concepts is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Excel and PDF editing.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings is an advantage.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, multi-task able in a fast-paced environment.
