What they need

About Weldfast

Weldfast UK is a leading independent supplier of welding, cutting, safety equipment and associated products, supporting customers across the UK with quality products, technical expertise and great service.

We're entering an exciting period of growth and transformation. With new investment, a strengthened leadership team and significant improvements being made across our systems, structure and ways of working, we're building a more modern and scalable business for the future.

The Role

As Sales & Customer Service Advisor, you'll be a key point of contact for our customers, helping with everything from product enquiries and quotations through to orders, returns and aftersales support.

You'll work closely with colleagues across Sales and Operations to deliver excellent customer service, build strong relationships and ensure customers receive the right advice and support.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy environment and takes pride in providing a great customer experience while spotting opportunities to grow sales.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Handle incoming customer enquiries by telephone and email, providing friendly, professional and timely support.
  • Prepare and issue quotations, following up proactively to convert enquiries into sales.
  • Process customer orders and returns accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide product information and advice to help customers find the right solutions.
  • Manage customer queries, issues and complaints, taking ownership through to resolution.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products to meet customer needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer information and activity within the CRM system.
  • Work closely with Regional Sales Managers, Key Accounts and Internal Account Managers to support customer requirements.
  • Liaise with Operations to ensure orders are processed smoothly and customer expectations are managed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer service processes and ways of working.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is confident, approachable and enjoys building relationships with customers while managing a varied and busy workload.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Previous experience in customer service, internal sales, sales administration or a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with customers by telephone and email.
  • A customer-focused approach with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail when processing quotations and orders.
  • Confidence handling customer queries and resolving problems effectively.
  • A proactive, commercially aware approach with the confidence to identify sales opportunities.
  • Good IT skills and experience using CRM or order processing systems.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the business.

Experience within welding, engineering, industrial supplies or a technical product environment would be beneficial, but isn't essential.

Why Join Weldfast?

You'll be joining Weldfast at an important stage in our development, with the opportunity to contribute to how we grow, improve and work together as a business.

We want people who take ownership, bring ideas and are comfortable looking for better ways of doing things.

You'll also receive:

  • 20 days' annual leave, plus bank holidays and Christmas shutdown of up to 4 additional days.
  • Additional annual leave with length of service.
  • Workplace pension.
  • Continuous learning and development
  • One paid volunteering day each year

If you're someone who enjoys helping customers, building relationships and turning enquiries into sales, we'd love to hear from you.
