About the Role

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Salesforce Core and enterprise data migration, and will own the strategy, architecture, and delivery of complex migrations from legacy and external systems into Salesforce. This role demands a strong technical foundation in data modeling, integration, and data quality, along with the ability to guide development teams and work closely with clients and stakeholders to deliver accurate, secure, and scalable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Define the end-to-end data migration strategy and architecture for Salesforce Core (Sales/Service Cloud) aligned with best practices and industry standards.
• Collaborate with functional architects, business analysts, and clients to assess source systems, understand business requirements, and translate them into migration designs and technical specifications.
• Design the target Salesforce data model, including objects, relationships, record ownership, sharing implications, and external ID strategy.
• Lead source-to-target mapping, transformation rules, data cleansing, deduplication, and data quality standards.
• Oversee data profiling of source systems to identify quality risks, gaps, and remediation needs early in the project.
• Select and define the migration tooling and load approach (Salesforce CLI, Data Loader, ETL platforms, and the REST, Bulk, and SOAP APIs), including load sequencing, batching, and governor limit management.
• Define the reconciliation and validation framework, mock migration cycles, cutover plan, and rollback strategy.
• Establish data governance practices, including data ownership, retention, security, and compliance requirements during and after migration.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to migration developers, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions.
• Conduct code and design reviews of SQL, scripts, and pipelines, ensuring adherence to standards, security guidelines, and performance best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex migration and integration issues, ensuring data integrity and platform stability.
• Stay up to date with the latest Salesforce features, releases, and data tooling to continuously improve our migration approach.

Required Skills

• Proven experience as a Data Migration Architect, Technical Architect, or similar role, with a strong focus on Salesforce Core.
• A track record of leading large-volume, multi-source data migrations into Salesforce from design through cutover.
• In-depth knowledge of Salesforce architecture, the core data model, and best practices, including declarative and programmatic automation and their impact on data loads (triggers, flows, validation rules, sharing).
• Strong understanding of data management, data modeling, data integration, and data governance principles.
• Expert-level SQL, including windowed/analytic functions, and experience with data/database development tools (e.g., DBeaver, SQL Server Management Studio).
• Strong database experience with relational databases and data warehousing concepts.
• Hands-on experience with the Salesforce CLI and the REST, Bulk, and SOAP APIs.
• Experience with data engineering and ETL/ELT processes, including data profiling, cleansing, and reconciliation.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and deployment practices.
