We're looking for a Salesforce Data Migration Developer to plan, build, and execute reliable data migrations into Salesforce. You'll work at the intersection of data engineering and the Salesforce platform, moving complex data from legacy and external systems accurately, securely, and at scale.

About the Role

The Salesforce Data Migration Developer will design, build, and execute end-to-end data migration solutions into Salesforce, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, secure, and scalable movement of complex data from legacy and external systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and execute end-to-end data migration solutions into Salesforce Core (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and custom objects)
• Analyze source systems and perform data profiling to assess data quality, completeness, and structure before migration
• Develop source-to-target data mappings and transformation logic aligned with the Salesforce data model
• Write and optimize complex SQL, including windowed/analytic functions, to extract, cleanse, deduplicate, and transform data
• Load and validate data using the Salesforce CLI and the REST, Bulk, and SOAP APIs
• Design and implement data models that support both migration and long-term business needs
• Manage record relationships, external IDs, ownership, and load sequencing for parent-child and many-to-many objects
• Build repeatable, automated migration pipelines and reconciliation processes
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and defect resolution across multiple test and production cycles
• Troubleshoot load failures, API limits, performance bottlenecks, and data integrity issues
• Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems
• Ensure best practices in data security, scalability, and maintainability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical migration solutions
• Support deployment processes, version control, cutover planning, and post-migration stabilization

Qualifications

• Strong database experience and a solid understanding of relational databases and SQL
• Proficiency with windowed SQL functions (e.g., ROW_NUMBER, RANK, LAG/LEAD, partitioned aggregates)
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce Core and its data model
• Experience with data modeling and source-to-target mapping
• Experience with the Salesforce CLI
• Experience with REST, Bulk, and SOAP APIs and system integrations
• Background in data engineering, including ETL/ELT processes
• Experience with data profiling, cleansing, and quality assessment
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
