The Role:

This is a strategic Salesforce Functional Analyst opportunity embedded within a leading Malaysian higher education institution, serving as the primary link between academic and administrative units and the technical Salesforce development team. Operating in a complex, matrixed university environment, you will transform institutional workflows, spanning student recruitment, admissions, student success, and alumni relations, into scalable, best-practice Salesforce solutions using a Flow-first, declarative approach. You will champion native Education Cloud capabilities, drive platform adoption, and ensure the CRM delivers measurable value across the institution.

The Responsibilities:

• Lead discovery workshops with decentralised university stakeholders, Admissions, Advising, Faculty, and Advancement, to map, standardise, and translate complex institutional processes into clear, prioritised user stories and functional requirements within an Agile framework.
• Architect and configure sophisticated declarative solutions using Salesforce Flow, validation rules, custom objects, and advanced security and sharing models, strictly aligned to Education Cloud and Education Data Architecture (EDA) best practices.
• Own the functional delivery lifecycle, including defining testing strategies, writing UAT acceptance criteria, and coordinating sandbox, regression, and deployment activities with Salesforce Administrators and Release Managers.
• Partner with Data Governance teams to design validation and duplicate management rules that protect data integrity and maintain compliance with relevant data privacy regulations across the student lifecycle.
• Design and deliver training materials, SOPs, and process documentation to drive platform adoption, and provide mentorship and coaching to junior administrators, analysts, and super-users across the institution.

Skills & Experience Required:

• 5+ years of experience as a Salesforce Functional Analyst or Business Analyst, with at least 2 years in a higher education or non-profit environment and proven hands-on experience with Salesforce Education Cloud or EDA.
• Advanced proficiency in Salesforce Flow and declarative configuration, including custom objects, validation rules, and complex security models using Profiles, Permission Sets, and Sharing Rules.
• Deep understanding of the student lifecycle, Inquiry through to Alumnus, and experience integrating Salesforce with Student Information Systems such as Banner, PeopleSoft, or Colleague.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing stakeholder priorities in a decentralised environment, translating ambiguous requirements into clear, actionable user stories and functional designs within Agile delivery frameworks.
• Salesforce Certified Administrator, Advanced Administrator, Business Analyst, or Education Cloud Consultant certification highly regarded; tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
