A large ASX listed Australian business running one of the more interesting Salesforce estates in the market. The org is ten to twelve years old, heavily customised and genuinely load bearing across the business. There is an established internal Salesforce team who know the platform well and are stretched across too much at once, which is why this role exists.

About the role

This is a hands on Marketing Cloud development role sitting inside that internal team. It is badged as BAU support, but BAU here means enhancements and new build rather than clearing config tickets. You will be writing code, working across the Marketing Cloud and core platform boundary, and dealing directly with the business units who use what you build.

The role stays technical. There is no drift toward architecture or delivery management built into it.

Duties

• Build and enhance Marketing Cloud solutions across Email Studio, Journey Builder and Automation Studio
• Write AMPscript for dynamic content, triggered sends and journey logic
• Develop Apex and Lightning Web Components on the core platform where the work crosses over
• Work across the Sales Cloud and Marketing Cloud connection, including data extension design and synchronisation
• Read and interpret existing code in a heavily customised org, and assess the impact of a change before making it
• Take a vague problem from a business unit, work out what is actually going on, and fix it
• Deploy through established CI/CD and version control processes
• Work alongside the internal Salesforce team on enhancement priorities

Skills and experience

• Deep Marketing Cloud build experience across Email Studio, Journey Builder and Automation Studio
• Strong AMPscript
• Apex and Lightning Web Component development
• CI/CD and version control experience with any toolset
• Proven ability to read, understand and safely modify unfamiliar code
• Experience with the Sales Cloud and Marketing Cloud connector and data extensions
• Cross cloud experience across the wider Salesforce platform
• Marketing Cloud certification
• Exposure to Advertising Studio
