Why This Role Matters

The Sandblaster plays a critical role in preparing fabricated steel components for painting and finishing. This position ensures surfaces meet quality and coating standards by safely and efficiently operating sandblasting equipment while maintaining equipment performance and supporting overall production flow.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare metal surfaces for coating and finishing.
• Perform extended sandblasting operations, including working on ladders and in elevated positions for long periods of time.
• Handle high-pressure blasting systems (up to 120 lbs. of air pressure) while maintaining steady control and precision.
• Frequently bend, kneel, reach overhead, and work in varied positions to properly blast all surface areas.
• Load, move, and position materials using forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on sandblasting equipment, including electrical and reclaim systems.
• Assist with welding and fabrication tasks as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and shop standards to maintain a safe work environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience with fabrication and sandblasting equipment preferred.
• Prior welding experience is a plus!
• Forklift experience or ability to become forklift certified.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Attention to detail and ability to produce consistent, high-quality surface preparation.
• Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

The Fine Print

• Reports To: Production Manager
• Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
• Pay Range: $20-22/hour, based on experience
• Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:30am – 5:00pm (Fridays as needed)
