Sanitation Associate

About the Role: S&L Cold Storage, Inc. is looking for a dependable Sanitation Associate to join our Food Safety team. You'll do hands-on cleaning, sanitizing, and housekeeping across our production and cold storage facility. You'll help keep it clean, safe, and audit-ready. This is an entry-level role, and no prior sanitation experience is required. We'll train you on our procedures, food safety standards, and safe chemical handling.

What You'll Do

▪ Clean and sanitize production areas, cold rooms, equipment, floors, drains, and common areas

▪ Follow Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and complete pre- and post-operational cleaning

▪ Take apart, clean, and reassemble basic equipment components and handle equipment with care

▪ Use sanitation chemicals safely at the correct dilutions, following SDS and label instructions

▪ Wear the required PPE (gloves, aprons, boots) and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and hygiene standards

▪ Fill out sanitation logs, checklists, and work orders accurately

▪ Keep sanitation carts, storage areas, and supplies organized, and help receive incoming supplies

▪ Report safety concerns, equipment issues, and low supplies to the Sanitation Supervisor

What We're Looking For

▪ High school diploma or GED preferred (not required if you have relevant experience)

▪ 0–1 year of experience in food manufacturing, food processing, or facilities cleaning preferred, but not required

▪ Basic familiarity with food safety, GMPs, or chemical safety is a plus

▪ Able to follow written and verbal instructions in a fast-paced environment

▪ Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and a good team player

▪ Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Schedule

▪ Full-time; must be available to work weekends and overtime as needed

Physical Requirements

▪ Stand and walk for extended periods; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach

▪ Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs

▪ Work in a cold environment (33°–40°F)

▪ Exposure to cleaning chemicals, wet floors, and sanitation equipment (PPE provided and required)
