Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of production areas, equipment, and surfaces using appropriate cleaning agents and industrial cleaning techniques.
• Handle chemical agents safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures and using personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, and eye protection.
• Conduct sanitation procedures in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to meet food safety standards.
• Assist in the disassembly and reassembly of equipment for cleaning purposes, ensuring all parts are properly sanitized before reassembly.
• Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, chemical usage, and sanitation activities for compliance audits.
• Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper use of respiratory protection when required.
• Support overall custodial efforts to keep the facility clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations.

Qualifications

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience in a food processing or industrial setting is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
• Experience with industrial cleaning methods and sanitation standards such as GMP is advantageous.
• Basic math skills for measuring chemicals and recording data accurately.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Strong understanding of food safety practices, including sanitation protocols specific to food production environments.
• Excellent attention to detail with a proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness standards at all times.
