SAP ABAP Developer

🚨 Hiring: Software Engineers – SAP S/4HANA / ABAP / UI5

Location: Canberra, Melbourne or Brisbane

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Contract: Up to 12 months + potential extensions

Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline

Experience Level: APS6 equivalent

Expected Start: January 2027

New Vision Software is currently looking for experienced Software Engineers for a long-term Federal Government engagement.

We are particularly interested in candidates with strong software development experience and exposure to:

✅ SAP S/4HANA

✅ ABAP

✅ SAP UI5

✅ Software design and development

✅ Systems integration and build

✅ Release and deployment

✅ Software configuration

✅ Manual and automated testing

✅ Application support

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain high-quality software solutions

• Create technical and software designs for complex development requirements

• Develop optimised, maintainable and scalable code

• Undertake analysis, prototyping, unit testing and maintenance activities

• Investigate and resolve complex ICT issues

• Support software releases, deployment and go-live activities

• Contribute to systems integration and technical design

• Provide technical advice and participate in code/design reviews

• Ensure development activities comply with agreed standards, methodologies and security requirements

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates who have:

• Strong experience in software engineering within complex enterprise environments

• Demonstrated programming and software development capability

• Experience with system and software design, integration, testing and deployment

• Ability to work independently with limited direction

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Previous experience within Federal Government or another large-scale organisation highly regarded

• Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Baseline security clearance

📍 Candidates must be based within reasonable travelling distance of Canberra, Melbourne or Brisbane . The engagement is expected to be onsite for the initial 6 weeks before hybrid arrangements may be considered.
