SAP ABAP Development & Integration Lead

The role will be responsible for defining and governing the development, extensibility, integration, and technical architecture required for the Canada rollout. The lead will assess existing custom developments and integrations, determine the appropriate extension approach, and ensure all new solutions align with SAP Clean Core principles and SAP's cloud extensibility strategy .

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience across SAP ABAP, ABAP Cloud, S/4HANA extensibility, RAP, CAP, SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite, APIs, events, and third-party integrations , combined with experience leading global SAP implementations and rollouts.

US and Canada Business Visa valid for next 3 years as one of the requirements

Key Responsibilities

Lead the technical development workstream for the Canada S/4HANA rollout.

Assess the existing Global Template's custom developments and technical architecture against Canada requirements.

Define technical solutions for gaps identified during Fit-to-Template / Fit-to-Standard workshops.

Establish development standards, design principles, coding guidelines, and technical governance.

Review technical designs and ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and upgradeable.

Provide technical leadership to onshore and offshore development teams.

Estimate development effort, identify technical dependencies, and manage development priorities.

Implement and configure SAP Joule across SAP landscapes.

Analyze business requirements and identify AI-driven use cases.

Integrate SAP Joule with SAP S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, Ariba, and other SAP solutions.

SAP ABAP & S/4HANA Development

• Provide strong technical leadership across SAP ABAP and S/4HANA development .
• Design and develop solutions using:

• RAP – RESTful Application Programming Model

Clean Core & Extensibility

• Define and govern the S/4HANA extensibility strategy for the rollout.

• Standard SAP functionality
• SAP BTP extensions

SAP BTP Development

• Design and govern side-by-side extensions on SAP Business Technology Platform .

SAP Integration Suite

Lead the integration workstream covering SAP Integration Suite , including:

• Cloud Integration
• API Management
• API-based integration patterns

Establish and manage the technical development lifecycle across:

• Requirements
• Technical Design
• Development
• Unit Testing
• Code Review
• SIT
• UAT
• Regression Testing
• Deployment
• Hypercare

SAP Joule Capability

• SAP Business AI
• SAP Joule Capabilities
• Joule Studio
• Generative AI concepts
• Experience with SAP BTP, SAP Build, and SAP Business AI.
• Understanding of generative AI, NLP, and AI copilots.

Required Experience

• 12–15+ years of SAP technical development experience .
• Strong experience with SAP ABAP and ABAP Objects .
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA development .
• Proven experience with ABAP Cloud and S/4HANA Cloud extensibility .
• Strong understanding of Clean Core and SAP extensibility strategy .
• Hands-on experience with CDS Views, RAP, OData, BAdIs, APIs and Fiori integration .
• Strong experience with SAP BTP .
• Strong experience with SAP Integration Suite / Cloud Integration (CPI) .
• Experience with API Management and API-based integration.
• Proven experience leading technical workstreams for Global Template rollouts .
• Experience with SAP RISE .
• Strong experience integrating S/4HANA with SAP and non-SAP applications.
• Experience with technical design, development governance, code reviews, testing, cutover, and hypercare.
• Strong understanding of integration security, authentication, authorization, monitoring, and error handling.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
