SAP Basis Admin

We are seeking a SAP Basis Admin to join our Team.

The ideal candidate will manage and maintain the SAP environment, ensuring system performance, availability, and security. The role involves both hands-on technical work and coordination with functional and development teams to ensure that all components of the SAP landscape are running efficiently. The SAP Basis Consultant acts as a key technical resource for the implementation, upgrade, and maintenance of SAP systems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform daily SAP system checks and monitor system performance to ensure optimal operation.
• Manage and monitor SAP system landscapes, including ECC, S/4HANA, BW, CRM, SCM, and other SAP systems.
• Perform routine tasks such as system copies, patches, kernel upgrades, and database maintenance.
• Monitor system performance, conduct troubleshooting, and resolve issues to ensure SAP systems operate effectively.
• Implement SAP system backups and restore processes, ensuring data integrity and system availability.
• Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems, including new installations and upgrades for SAP applications, databases, and operating systems.
• Perform regular system tuning and capacity planning to maintain high system availability and performance.
• Analyze performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and optimize SAP systems for better efficiency.
• Work with functional teams to address system performance issues and fine-tune configurations.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 2+ technical support for SAP Basis-related issues, coordinating with SAP Support and internal teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Support incident, problem, and change management processes following ITIL standards.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide after-hours support as needed.

Job Requirements

Required qualifications: Education:

• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Equivalent professional experience may also be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in SAP Basis administration.
• Experience with SAP ECC or S/4HANA systems, including installation, upgrade, and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with at least SAP HANA database.

Technical skills:

• System management, installations, configuration & upgrade - medium level
• S/4HANA conversion expertise - beginer level
• System migration knowledge - medium level
• OS administration for SAP - medium level
• Execute release upgrades and support package applications, ensuring compliance with SAP guidelines and best practices.
• Experience in system migrations, both on-premises and to cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or SAP Cloud Platform.

Soft skills:

• Good analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills capable of handling a vast variety of systems.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage relationships with customer representatives, including those from different cultural backgrounds.
• Comittment to client, with a focus on delivering high-quality services rather than holding specific certifications or formal education levels.

Language proficiency:

• Proficiency in English for professional communication and documentation.

Desired skills and certifications:

• 2 years of experience with cloud environments and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Been involved in S/4HANA system conversion projects.
• Experience with cloud environments and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages for system administration tasks.
• Certifications in SAP Basis or related areas are preferred.

Work conditions:

• Working hours: EMEA business hours.
• Working setup: hybrid or remote.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations for after-hours support.
• Ability to travel occasionally for training or business needs.
• Be available for occasional shifts out of standard working hours (9-18).
