SAP Basis Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a hands-on SAP Basis Administrator with around 3–5 years of experience to support and administer enterprise SAP environments. The role involves SAP Basis administration, production support, system monitoring, troubleshooting, patching, transport management, backup/recovery and high availability/disaster recovery operations. The successful candidate will work across SAP ECC, BW, Gateway/Fiori, GRC, Enterprise Portal and OpenText, with environments running on SAP HANA/Linux and SAP ASE/Windows.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and provide production support for SAP ECC, BW, Gateway/Fiori, GRC, Enterprise Portal and OpenText
• Monitor SAP systems, application servers, work processes, system logs and background jobs
• Troubleshoot SAP dumps, locks, update failures, RFC, job, spool and interface issues
• Perform SAP instance start/stop, profile and parameter administration, and kernel patching
• Manage SAP transports using STMS across development, QA and production environments
• Support Gateway/OData services, Fiori connectivity, GRC RFCs, Portal and OpenText integrations
• Support SAP HANA 2.0 on Linux environments and monitor HANA services, CPU, memory, data/log volumes, alerts and database capacity
• Perform or support HANA backup/restore, patching, upgrades and performance troubleshooting
• Support HANA System Replication (HSR), including monitoring, takeover and failback activities
• Administer SLES Pacemaker/Corosync high-availability clusters and troubleshoot SAPHanaSR/SAPHanaSR-angi, STONITH/fencing, quorum and cluster resource issues

About you

• Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science or a related discipline
• Around 3–5 years of hands-on SAP Basis experience
• Production support experience with SAP ECC and/or BW
• Hands-on experience with SAP HANA on Linux and SAP ASE on Windows
• Experience or exposure to HANA System Replication, Pacemaker/Corosync and WSFC
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Good communication, documentation and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable supporting production environments and participating in after-hours maintenance when required
