SAP Data Warehouse Expert

About the role

You will design, build and govern AXR's enterprise data warehouse on SAP BW/4HANA and SAP Datasphere. The warehouse will feed SAP Analytics Cloud and Power BI reporting for finance, project cost, sales and procurement. Your work decides whether the numbers can be trusted, so accuracy and reconciliation matter as much as speed.

Key responsibilities

• Design the data architecture, including layers, data models, star schemas, dimensions and hierarchies.
• Build and maintain extraction, transformation and load processes using SAP BW, Datasphere data flows, SAP Data Services or SLT replication.
• Model financial, project cost, sales and procurement data so that warehouse reports reconcile to the general ledger.
• Set and enforce data quality rules, master data standards and reconciliation controls.
• Build the semantic layer and reporting views for SAP Analytics Cloud and Power BI.
• Tune query, load and HANA object performance.
• Set data access roles and security in line with company policy.
• Document the data dictionary, data lineage and load schedules.
• Work with business owners to define KPIs and reporting requirements.

Essential requirements

• At least five years' experience in SAP data warehousing, with SAP BW/4HANA or SAP Datasphere in production.
• Strong data modelling skills, including dimensional modelling, star schemas and slowly changing dimensions.
• Advanced SQL, with HANA SQL or SQLScript experience.
• Experience with ETL and data replication tools.
• Experience reconciling warehouse data back to ERP financials.
• Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud or Power BI.

Desirable

• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA finance (FI/CO) and project system (PS) data structures.
• SAP certification in BW, Datasphere or HANA.
• Python for data engineering tasks.
• Experience with a data governance framework.
• Construction, property or project-based sector experience.

The person we are looking for

• Exacting about data accuracy, and says so when a number doesn't reconcile.
• Can walk a finance team through a technical design without jargon.
• Plans for the next three years of reporting, not just this month's.

Work arrangement

Based in Beenleigh, Queensland (11 Main Street, Beenleigh QLD 4207). Remote and work-from-home arrangements are available for this role. Working from AXR offices in other Australian locations is acceptable. Some travel to project sites and to Beenleigh may be needed.

Pay: $100,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
