What They’re Looking For

We are seeking an experienced SAP EAM Solution Architect to provide architectural leadership across an enterprise asset management transformation.

This is primarily an architecture, governance and strategic advisory position , rather than a hands-on SAP configuration role.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Extensive experience across SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) .
• Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Asset Management / EAM .
• A proven track record of designing and owning SAP solution architecture .
• Experience defining architectural direction, standards and technology decisions.
• Strong understanding of maintenance management and asset lifecycle processes .
• Experience developing or contributing to asset management strategies and roadmaps .
• The ability to turn complex business requirements into practical, scalable SAP solution designs.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills , including the confidence to work with senior business and technology stakeholders.
• The ability to provide architectural governance and challenge existing solutions where required.

Dutch language skills are preferred. Exceptional English-speaking candidates may also be considered where their SAP EAM architecture experience is particularly strong.

Key Responsibilities

The successful consultant will be responsible for providing architectural direction across the SAP asset management landscape.

• Assessing the existing SAP EAM environment and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Defining target-state architecture and supporting the evolution of the asset management platform.
• Providing guidance on SAP EAM / PM and S/4HANA architecture decisions.
• Translating business and maintenance requirements into robust solution architectures.
• Establishing architectural principles, standards and governance processes.
• Supporting the development of the organisation’s asset management roadmap .
• Working closely with business, functional and technical stakeholders.
• Reviewing proposed solutions and ensuring they align with the wider enterprise architecture.
• Advising on process optimisation and opportunities to improve asset and maintenance management.
• Providing senior-level architectural input throughout the relevant stages of the programme.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience working within large, complex enterprise environments .
• Background in asset-intensive industries such as infrastructure, transportation, utilities, manufacturing or engineering.
• Experience operating within formal architecture governance frameworks .
• Previous consulting experience with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Dutch and English language capability.
• Previous experience leading SAP EAM transformation or optimisation programmes.

Assignment Overview

• Duration: Initial 12-month contract
• Start: Ideally within the next month
• Working pattern: Full-time preferred; strong part-time profiles may also be considered
• Location: Predominantly remote, with approximately 1–2 days per week onsite in the Netherlands
• Flexibility: Candidates based in neighbouring countries may be considered where regular travel to the Netherlands is practical
