SAP GRC Consultant - Access Control

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced SAP Security Consultant to join a growing Software Engineering team supporting critical business systems for a large, global Oil & Gas organization. In this role, you will act as a "software detective" — proactively identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues across complex, multi-component business systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong SAP GRC Access Control expertise who enjoys working independently while also contributing actively within a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a software detective, identifying and resolving issues within multiple components of critical, business-critical systems.
• Perform independently and grow into a subject matter expert within SAP GRC Access Control and related application support functions.
• Actively participate and contribute in team discussions, offering solutions to work-related problems and challenges.
• Analyze and resolve complex software issues to ensure continuous system performance, stability, and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance system functionality and prevent recurring issues.
• Document findings, root causes, and solutions clearly and thoroughly to support knowledge sharing and future troubleshooting efforts.
• Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives by identifying gaps in existing processes and proposing innovative, practical solutions.
• Engage proactively with business and technical stakeholders to understand system impacts, dependencies, and risks.
• Prioritize support activities effectively based on business criticality and urgency.
• Support audits and compliance reviews related to SAP GRC Access Control, ensuring access risk frameworks remain effective and up to date.
• Assist in managing and monitoring role-based access controls (RBAC), segregation of duties (SoD), and access risk analysis within the SAP environment.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Mandatory: Hands-on experience with SAP Governance, Risk & Compliance – Access Control (SAP GRC AC) , including configuration, risk analysis, and support of access control processes.
• Advanced proficiency in IT Troubleshooting (required) — strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex, multi-layered system issues.
• Advanced proficiency in Engineering Support (recommended).
• Advanced proficiency in Application Remediation (suggested) — experience identifying and fixing recurring application defects or performance issues.
• Strong understanding of role-based access control (RBAC), segregation of duties (SoD), and access risk management within an SAP landscape.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment.
• Strong documentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive, stakeholder-focused mindset with strong prioritization and time management skills.
• Experience supporting large-scale, business-critical enterprise applications, ideally within a regulated industry (e.g., healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or similar).
• Familiarity with incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and continuous improvement methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in a multinational or shared-services IT support environment.
• Experience working with global healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industry clients is an advantage.
• Exposure to related SAP GRC modules (e.g., Process Control, Risk Management) is a plus.
