SAP HR Implementation

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Support the existing IT team in the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of all core modules (PY, PM, OM, LSO) of the local SAP HR system at ArcelorMittal Belgium. Work with HR and IT stakeholders to gather, validate, and implement business-specific requirements.
The role aims to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of HR data with government standards, and to implement custom programs and applications when standard solutions are insufficient. The implementator will work closely with business stakeholders and the local IT team to address business-specific requirements and enhance the overall functionality of SAP HR.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand business needs
Validate incoming change requests for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with standards and business rules. Challenge key users in case of unclarities or contradictions.
Tool adaptation and implementation
Adapt and enrich standard SAP tooling for business-specific requirements.
Design and implement new programs and apps from specific business needs when the standard SAP solution doesn’t match up.

Data synchronisation
Support integration and synchronization of HR master data between SAP and downstream systems.
Problem solving and support
Answering (basic) questions by end-users, identify anomalies, and take corrective actions, either through a root-cause analysis, bug fixing, workaround

Data quality
Monitor data quality and resolve data-related issues by working with business units and IT.

System enhancements
Participate in testing and deployment activities for SAP HR upgrades, enhancements, and workflow changes.
Documentation and testing
Create comprehensive documentation for unit tests.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

• Experience in one or more of the below competencies is required:
• 6+ years of experience working with SAP HCM in a large corporation
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA
• Experienced developer both within ABAP as Fiori apps (UI5)
• Experience with IDOC processing and monitoring
• Able to write new and extend existing code both in project and evolutive maintenance mode
• Deep understanding of the SOx process
• Knowledge on European (Belgian ideally) laws and regulations, especially concerning pay roll
• Able to handle documentation and code where 80% is in Dutch, including variable and parameter usage
• Knowledge of GDPR-compliant data handling (critical for EU organizations)
• Good understanding of HR processes and data security requirements
• Experience in HRIS with SAP HR integrations

PREFERRED TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

• Experience and skilled in SAP Workflow Management
• Experience with Mainframe coding (DB2, CoolGen)
• Experience with SAP SLT
• Experience with SAP Basis tasks
• Certification in SAP HCM
• Exposure to data cleansing projects

REQUIREMENTS
Degree
Bachelor’s or Master‘s degree in IT
Experience
Minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar role.

• High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and consistency.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Dutch is a plus but not mandatory
• Knowledge on Belgian laws and regulations, especially concerning pay roll
• Capable to quickly absorb and appropriate business knowledge.
