SAP PP Consultant

Job Summary

The SAP PP Consultant is responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, and support of the SAP Production Planning (PP) module within a manufacturing environment. This role works closely with production, planning, supply chain, and cross-functional teams to ensure SAP solutions effectively support production planning, material availability, capacity planning, and manufacturing execution in alignment with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

SAP PP Implementation & Support

Configure and implement SAP PP processes, including:

• Demand Management and Planned Independent Requirements (PIR)
• Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
• Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Routing and Work Centers
• Capacity Planning
• Production Orders / Process Orders
• Shop Floor Control (SFC)

Provide end-to-end support for SAP PP processes in a manufacturing environment, including incident handling and issue resolution.

Business Requirement Analysis

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional SAP PP solutions.
• Prepare functional specifications for enhancements, interfaces, reports, and forms related to production planning and manufacturing processes.

Business Process Integration

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize Plan-to-Produce (P2P) and manufacturing processes.
• Ensure seamless integration of SAP PP with other SAP modules such as:
• MM (Materials Management)
• QM (Quality Management)
• PM (Plant Maintenance)
• FI/CO (Finance & Controlling)
• Support alignment between sales forecasts, production planning, and material availability.

Testing & Deployment

• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Support system go-live activities, data migration (BOM, Routing, Work Center, and MRP data), and cutover planning.
• Provide post-go-live support and system stabilization.

User Support & Training

• Provide day-to-day SAP PP system support and troubleshooting.
• Train end users such as production planners and manufacturing teams.
• Prepare user manuals and system documentation.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for SAP PP-related inquiries.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency through SAP PP functionality.
• Support system upgrades, enhancements, and rollouts to new plants or regions.
• Ensure SAP PP solutions comply with internal controls and audit requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in SAP PP consulting, SAP functional support, or SAP implementation.
• Strong understanding of SAP PP business processes and production planning.
• Hands-on experience with SAP PP configuration and functional troubleshooting.
• Experience in SAP implementation, rollout, enhancement, or support projects.
• Good understanding of manufacturing and production planning processes.
• Experience working with cross-functional SAP modules such as MM, QM, PM, CO, or SD.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of business-process analysis and requirements gathering.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both business users and technical teams.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA.

• SAP PP certification is an advantage.

• Experience in SAP PP/DS is an advantage.

• Knowledge of MRP Live, Production Planning, Capacity Planning, and Production Scheduling.

• Experience integrating SAP with manufacturing systems.

• Knowledge of ABAP debugging, IDoc, API, BAPI, or integration technologies is an advantage.

• Experience in SAP Fiori is an advantage.

• Experience in manufacturing industries, particularly high-volume or process manufacturing, is preferred.

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence is a plus.

• Experience working with multiple manufacturing plants or regional/global SAP rollout projects is an advantage.
