1 Role Summary

Lead the integrated manufacturing, quality, and plant-maintenance workstream for a major S/4HANA transformation. The consultant will design reliable production planning and execution for cables, wires, PVC pipes and fittings, components, and other industrial products while embedding quality controls, asset reliability, traceability, and plant-performance requirements.

2 Key Responsibilities

• Lead fit-to-standard workshops covering demand and production planning, MRP, capacity planning, production or process execution, confirmations, material staging, backflush, goods movements, rework, scrap, and settlement integration.

• Design master data for materials, bills of material, recipes or routings, work centers and resources, production versions, PRTs, inspection plans, equipment, functional locations, task lists, maintenance plans, and measuring points.

• Configure PP processes appropriate to repetitive, discrete, or process characteristics in cable extrusion, drawing, stranding, insulation, armouring, sheathing, pipe extrusion, molding, assembly, and packing operations.

• Configure QM for incoming, in-process, final, and delivery inspections; results recording; usage decisions; defects; notifications; certificates; calibration integration; and quality-related stock control.

• Configure PM for corrective, preventive, predictive-enabled, shutdown, calibration, refurbishment, and spare-parts processes, including notifications, orders, permits, measurement, scheduling, and costing.

• Integrate PP, QM, and PM with MM, EWM, SD, FI or CO, product costing, MES, shop-floor equipment, LIMS, and analytics solutions.

• Own migration, specifications, testing, UAT, cutover, go-live, hypercare, plant-user training, and operational handover.

• Lead workstream governance and coordinate plant stakeholders, global teams, and offshore delivery resources.

  3 Required Technical Skills

• S/4HANA Production Planning and execution with MRP, demand management, capacity, orders, confirmations, and goods movements

• Knowledge of discrete, repetitive, and process-manufacturing design choices and their applicability

• PP master data, production versions, batch derivation or genealogy concepts, co-products or by-products, scrap, rework, and subcontracting integration

• QM planning, inspections, results, defects, usage decisions, notifications, certificates, and calibration links

• PM technical objects, notifications, orders, preventive maintenance, measuring points, permits, task lists, refurbishment, and shutdown support

• Fiori manufacturing and maintenance apps, workflows, analytics, forms, interfaces, and authorizations

• Integration with MM, SD, EWM, FI or CO, costing, MES, LIMS, IoT or condition monitoring, and plant automation

  4 Manufacturing Domain Experience

The candidate must demonstrate delivery experience in at least one target manufacturing industry and show how the selected industry shaped SAP design decisions.

• End-to-end planning and shop-floor flow for cable or wire production, including multi-stage conversion, length and weight units, drums or reels, yield loss, scrap, and traceability
• PVC pipe and fitting extrusion or molding with batch or lot controls, quality testing, regrind or scrap, and packing
• Capacity and sequencing constraints across machines, dies or tools, lines, labor, and quality gates
• Preventive maintenance and breakdown response for extrusion lines, drawing or stranding machines, testing equipment, utilities, and material-handling assets

Target industries: Electrical cable and wire manufacturing; Telecommunication cable manufacturing; PVC pipes and fittings manufacturing; Industrial or component manufacturing; High-tech or discrete manufacturing.

5 S4HANA Experience Requirements

• Hands-on delivery in SAP S4HANA, not solely ECC support or conceptual training.

• Practical understanding of relevant S4HANA simplifications, Business Partner impacts, Fiori user experience, embedded analytics, integration patterns, and role or authorization dependencies.

• Ability to apply fit-to-standard principles while documenting justified gaps, extensions, interfaces, conversions, forms, workflows, and reports.

• Experience collaborating across functional, technical, data, security, testing, change, infrastructure, and business teams.

  6 Mandatory Project Experience

• End-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation or transformation delivery

• Process discovery, fit-to-standard and fit-gap workshops, and solution design

• Configuration, functional or technical specifications, testing, defect resolution, and documentation

• Data migration and reconciliation support, cutover planning, go-live, and hypercare

• Business stakeholder management across plant, corporate, and global delivery teams

• 8 or more years across SAP PP with substantial QM and PM delivery experience

• At least one S/4HANA manufacturing implementation, rollout, or conversion

• Hands-on production-planning and execution configuration

• Hands-on QM and PM configuration with cross-module integration

• Manufacturing plant workshops, testing, cutover, go-live, and hypercare

• Ability to work full-time from the Pune client location

  7 Preferred Skills

• Cable, wire, PVC pipe, polymer, extrusion, component, or high-tech manufacturing experience

• MES, LIMS, IoT, condition monitoring, EWM, or shop-floor integration

• Advanced Planning, Detailed Scheduling, or embedded PP DS exposure

• SAP BTP, Fiori, analytics, or international rollout experience

  8 Educational Qualification

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Commerce, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related discipline relevant to the role.

• A relevant SAP S4HANA certification is preferred and does not replace demonstrated hands-on project delivery.

• Postgraduate qualification or recognized cloud, project-management, quality, supply-chain, finance, or infrastructure certification is an advantage where relevant.

  9 Communication and Soft Skills

• Fluent professional English is mandatory; Hindi and Marathi are preferred.

• Strong workshop facilitation, requirement clarification, process documentation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

• Ability to communicate design options, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and decisions to business leaders and technical teams.

• Structured problem solving, ownership, collaboration, attention to controls and data quality, and calm execution during cutover and production issues.

• Ability to work effectively with onsite, offshore, plant, vendor, and international teams across time zones when required.

  10 Location and Travel Requirements

Pune client location mandatory with travel to manufacturing plants as required. The candidate must be available for workshops, testing, cutover, go-live, hypercare, and plant or warehouse visits based on the program calendar. Hybrid working is subject to client and project requirements.

11 Screening Criteria

1. Reject if total relevant experience is below 8 years.
2. Reject if PP is strong but both QM and PM are only superficial.
3. Require one S/4HANA plant implementation and hands-on master-data and configuration examples.
4. Require a clear cable, wire, PVC, process, component, or similar multi-stage manufacturing scenario.
5. Require independently owned cutover or go-live evidence and Pune onsite acceptance.
