SAP S/4HANA BASIS Specialist

Context

Within the framework of a major Oxygen transformation program, a leading industrial company is looking for an experienced SAP S/4HANA BASIS Specialist (BC) to join the project team as a technical SME.

The consultant will work closely with the project team, providing hands-on technical expertise across all S/4HANA BASIS topics and supporting the program through critical project phases, including build, testing, cutover, and go-live. The role also involves coordinating and guiding the offshore team supporting the environments. This mission requires a dynamic, autonomous, and mobile consultant, able to operate efficiently in a complex international program environment.

Missions

SAP BASIS / BC Expertise

• Act as SAP S/4HANA BASIS (BC) expert for the Oxygen program
• Install, configure, and maintain SAP S/4HANA systems (DEV, QAS, PRD)
• Manage SAP landscapes and transport routes
• Perform technical operations, including:
  • Kernel upgrades
  • SPS upgrades and patching
  • SAP Notes implementation
• Administer and monitor SAP HANA databases
• Ensure overall system performance, stability, and availability

Project & Program Support

• Work embedded with the project team (functional, development, and program management)
• Participate in:
  • Technical design workshops
  • Risk and impact assessments
  • Go-live readiness and technical validation
• Support cutover preparation and execution
• Provide hypercare support after go-live

Coordination & Operational Support

• Coordinate with:
  • Internal IT teams
  • Infrastructure and hosting providers
  • SAP partners and integrators
• Support technical topics related to:
  • Interfaces and RFC connectivity
  • Background jobs and batch management
  • Monitoring and alerting
• Contribute to technical documentation and operational procedures

Required Expertise

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Strong, proven experience as SAP BASIS / BC Consultant on S/4HANA
• Solid expertise in:
  • SAP NetWeaver administration
  • SAP HANA administration and performance monitoring
  • Transport management systems (TMS)
  • System refreshes and client copies
• Knowledge of ChaRM
• Experience on SAP transformation or S/4HANA implementation programs
• Hands-on experience in cutover and go-live activities
• Experience on large international SAP programs
• Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager or SAP Focused Run
• Exposure to cloud or hybrid SAP environments
• Experience in industrial or manufacturing contexts

Onsite Presence & Mobility

• Support project team for SAP BASIS
• Documentation and knowledge transfer
• Work closely with AMS team and other modules
