SAP SD Consultant

About this role

As an SAP SD Consultant, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, and optimizing SAP Sales & Distribution solutions that support key business processes across the organization. Working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and other SAP functional areas, you will translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions while ensuring seamless integration with related modules. You will contribute to SAP S/4HANA initiatives, process improvements, system enhancements, and project deliveries.

A typical day might include the following activities

• Gather, analyse, and document business requirements related to Sales & Distribution processes.
• Configure and maintain SAP SD functionalities in line with business and operational needs.
• Design and implement solutions covering order management, pricing, billing, delivery, and customer processes.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify process improvements and optimization opportunities.
• Support SAP S/4HANA implementations, rollouts, migrations, and transformation initiatives.
• Configure and maintain pricing procedures, billing processes, copy control, incompletion procedures, account determination, ATP, and output management.
• Work closely with FI, MM, and PP teams to ensure seamless end-to-end process integration.
• Prepare functional specifications and collaborate with ABAP developers during development and testing activities.
• Support interfaces, integrations, IDoc processing, and data migration activities.
• Participate in solution design workshops, testing, defect resolution, and user acceptance testing.
• Analyse incidents, identify root causes, and provide functional support for business-critical issues.
• Ensure solutions comply with business requirements, SAP best practices, and organizational standards.
• Support change management, training, and knowledge transfer activities as required.
• Collaborate with project teams throughout the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and post-go-live support.

To ensure success, you need the following skills

• Strong experience in SAP SD configuration and business processes.
• Experience working with SAP S/4HANA environments and related transformation projects.
• Solid understanding of Sales & Distribution processes, including order management, pricing, shipping, and billing.
• Strong knowledge of integration points between SAP SD and FI, MM, and PP modules.
• Hands-on experience with pricing, billing, copy control, incompletion procedures, account determination, ATP, and output management.
• Ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into functional SAP solutions.
• Experience writing detailed functional specifications for ABAP developments.
• Good understanding of testing, defect management, and solution validation processes.
• Knowledge of debugging concepts and the ability to support technical troubleshooting activities.
• Experience working with SAP interfaces, IDocs, and migration tools is considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and international environments.

• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
